You can chain however many you want/need for your project....in multiples of two if that makes sense

@@eabird4358 Not all of them but a ton do. Its depends on how wide you want something. I highly recommend checking other KZbin tutorials and start small with a washcloth and learn the different stitches that way.

Very nice stitch. If this is a "tutorial", it falls very short. Does anyone know why these creators don't speak in the video, and don't explain the steps necessary to do this stitch. If you are very experienced at crochet, and know exactly what you are looking at, this is great. It's aggravating when I'm searching for beginner tutorials and videos like this pop up.

You have your chain then a row of half double crochet then a row of single crochet with a yarn over that you call HDC . Please make sure you know what your pattern is before you post. Sorry not trying to be negative but if you post something you need to know your stitches
