@@Mftater always try to use your defensives before the damage goes out. Stonebulwark is great to fill in when astral shift is on cooldown. Earth Elemental last a long time and if you drop him before a boss that does a lot of AOE damage he will oftentimes be up for the start of the next one. Don’t underestimate spending maelstrom on healing surge either. It is an actual life saver, especially when you start climbing up in keys. Hope this helps! Good luck and have fun!

It has the same effect as right clicking on a target. /use is the same as /cast. /use is shorter and therefore, more efficient. @mouseover is the mouse over conditional. This means you don't have to select a target, you just mouse over it. exist is a conditional that means whatever you mouse over must actually be there. harm is a conditional that means whatever you mouse over must be harmful. [] Is there if none of the above conditions are true, then the macro will cast chain lightning on your selected target. You now don't have to tab target. Just mouse over the target and press your chain lightning hotkey. Your focus will stay on your current target. Search Quazii Macro Masterclass. He has so much more information.

Great videos. They have helped me a lot. I do have a few questions since I'm only about a week and a half into learning this. I'm probably over thinking this but say you use a Tempest and you come out after it with only two maelstrom. Do you throw out a chain lightning with just two maelstrom to use the Arc Discharge? You never want to send two tempests back to back correct? There seems to be little nuances that maybe my brain just isn't registering or picking up on. My damage seems inconsistent to a lot of youtube videos not that I would be anywhere close to any of your level yet.

Welcome to the shammy fam! Glad I've been able to help! You NEVER want to cast a malestrom spender, always spend when it's instant cast. So after using Tempest wait till 8+ Maelstrom and spend. You are having the right thought with Tempest < Spend < Tempest < Spend when you get back to back Tempest. Personally I think it's a small gain and you can just focus on doing the back to back Tempest as you are learning. You won't be losing a lot of damage doing it back to back. The two most common mistakes I have been seeing with players that say their damage is low, is not always using cooldowns when they can and not lining up Primordial Waves with Tempest (also lining it up with tempest+Ascendance). Just dont wast CDs at the end of a pull. These are two areas that could lead to a big damage gain for you. GLHF!

Storm Totemic slaps. Hard. Yes you have to move the totem, but if you know the dungeon, or and Raid bosses you know where to drop the totem and when to move it. Plus the Totem range is a 40 yard range. In ST Raid, I been doing great damage because lively and reactive does crap damage any way in ST, but rebound does excellent damage. You supercharge the Totem and you will hit....HARD.

Honestly, you will do less damage but I don’t think its significant enough to over complicate things if it will jumble you up. If you find it too complicated to tab for lightning rod you can still absolutely do respectable damage as enhance. That said, practice makes perfect. Some mouseover macros can go a long way.

Hey my boy WeiWei! 1. Crash Lightning buff does affect Windstrike in AOE. 2. For single target don't waste the GCD just spam windstrike and tempest to get as many tempest charges as possible. 3. Yes! Prioritize using Lava Lash to keep the Flame Shock debuff up during single target, unless you are running Volcanic Blaze. If Volcanic Blaze is proced you should use that instead since it does slightly more damage.

@@vovkabondarev7416 the reasoning is tempest hits harder and your wolves increase damage done depending on their type. For example fire wolves buff fire abilities. Since elemental blast is all element types every wolf buff it. So with 4+ out it’s about an 80% damage increase to the ability so you want to try and get two off in that window. Since tempest only spawns lightning wolves they’re only buffing your lightning abilities making lightning bolt stronger during the time where you have less than 4 wolves. Since those wolves are usually coming from tempest.

I feel a lot weaker after the nerfs. My rotation is the same, its pretty much exactly what you have shown in the video, but i feel my damage has gone down drastically. Even when testing on a dummy. In mythic + it has defintely gone down a lot when doing mechanics but i can see a oretty large difference when just doing it on the dummies. Not sure. I dont have as much time to play so i may have had some insane bad luck.

We are still extremely viable with the nerfs, they just wanted us to be more like everyone else’s damage numbers. Which I get but I hate! Let ya boy pump! 😭

Hey, the guide here is still accurate. Spending at 8+ in ST has been more so what I've been doing. The best rule of thumb is if you can still generate maelstrom do so and spend at that 8+ or Max. If you are out of generators with 5+ just spend the maelstrom. From my experience, it's very rare to land at 5 maelstrom you will usually land at the 7-10 pretty naturally then end up spending. Haven't been raiding lately but I'm not taking any performance hits in ST fights in M+ following my guide. GLHF!

@@Caute__ if you are running feral spirits with witch doctors you will still want to keep them on cooldown and use them within a global or two of being up. The builds I shared only use Feral Spirits in our raid builds and for AOE just our raid cleave build. For M+ we use the new flowing spirit talents, so they will just come and go as we fight. But if you don’t like this talent you can still run witch doctors and not take much of a hit to your overall. With flowing spirits this talent the most I’ve seen out is around 6 personally but in constant AOE it feels like I always have wolves out which is great since they buff our damage. Hope this helps! @ you will never long cast anything. The only time you do is elemental blast in ST raid. During Ascendance AOE when windstrike is sending out chain lightning you will have to press tempest in order for it to be used and as long as that tempest hits two targets windstrike will cast chain lightning again. In ST Ascendance should be primed for lightning bolt and windstrike will consume tempest automatically when it’s available.

That is actually apart of details! You can turn it on by typing /streamer. A new window will appear and in the lower left is the option for it. This will also turn on a spell sequence tracker like I have (I actually use a different addon to track that though) but if you play with the settings you can shrink that and hide it behind your bars. There a few other cases as when you would actually cast a chain lightning and not let windstrike just do it. Those are when windstrike is set to lightning bolt due to that being your most recent cast. For example post a boss, but you should chain lightning before going into Ascendance so you don’t run into that. The other is when you need to crash lightning to keep your crash lightning buff up. The last one is you could use primordial wave when tempest procs while in Ascendance, but as long as you are tab targeting after every windstrike to spread lightning rods you won’t lose much damage not using PWave during Ascendance. It’s always better to have PWave up going into Ascendance like in our AOE opener. GLHF out there!

@@YaBoySquints so in the case of aoe and maybe ST, during ascendance, when you have lust and PI, you want to be spamming windstrike as fast as possible, and the auto casted chainlightnings is what youre relying on for the tempest procs? and then cast tempest when at 8-10 stacks? and ST you can just spam windstrike as long as primed for LB? i guess my problem is aoe where i feel like im missing a few gcds because im trying to hit tempest fast enough when i see it come up but then a windstrike eats my maelstrom? is there any recommendation on having smoother ascendance gameplay

@ During AoE don’t worry so much about your maelstrom amount when casting Tempest. When Tempest is up just hit it! Then go back to the Windstrike spam. There’s no best way to go about hitting Tempest since it’s reactive. My WA does track how much more maelstrom needs to be spent for it to be available but during Ascendance it happens really fast. Best tip I can give is to spam but on the GCD. So for example windstrike (pause a moment for GCD) react to next ability. When you just press windstrike as fast as possible that’s when you start to Que up the ability which may be happening to you. You’ll never really been maelstrom starved while in Ascendance. Then in ST everything is automatically happening for as long as your primed with LB before going in. Hopefully that helps and answers your question!

Quick question ( I haven't finished the video so maybe I'm stupid but I paused at 6 minutes to get clarity. You say to use Tempest whenever its up in your opener. Is that only in Ascendance? am I not waiting for 8+ stacks of maelstrom?

@@equaleffect you should always use tempest within 1-2 globals ideally. If you have it right before you are about to pop Ascendance you can hold it then use it in Ascendance.

In raid ST situation, you never use EB if less than 4 wolves are up ? Are you aiming getting at least 1 wolf per element ? What about PW, do you want to have 3 unique wolves active or just cast it on CD ? Great vid on the way !

@@yanndurand8702 Glad you enjoyed the video! In raid ST you are only ever going to use EB with 4+ wolves and no tempest available. You will always have more nature wolves out because tempest spawns them so don’t worry about having one of each element. Elemental blast is all elements so every wolf type buffs the ability equally. With PWave just send it on CD!

Mate. I simmed my character for 5 target dungeon slice and damage was around 3,7m but on the damage break down the lightning rod found around 46m damage and %20,6 and it is showing at the top list. Tempest is the second by %20,5 I confused. Am I doing something wrong ? or simming wrong ? Is it possible to make such huge damage with lightning road ? If so how ? Please respond please.

@@grigandalfn50tonu49 hmm that’s interesting but sims are also for 5mins and as if everything is done perfectly. So you would technically get two Ascendance off in a consistent 5min window. That aligned with PWave spreading lightning rod definitely bumps it up a ton. Lightning rod should always be in your top 3 for damage. If you are getting lucky RNG and perfectly spreading and maintaining it in a 5 target fight like a sim is it would be number one. But as long as it’s in your top 3 you’re good 👍
