Can confirm, in mythic + i am in no way going "can i just do damage?". Im in a panic to heal all the party because each boss ability is melting the entire party every few seconds or the tank pulled 2 large groups by himself that have aor abilties causing me to have to heal them but have the dps start all dying in the process. Definitely could use better group healing on pally aside from your wings cooldown

I just found everything above it on the prio list to do more damage/healing. A lot of heralds benefit comes from wings, holy prism is a nice little side add.

Hey! Great guide, ive been gearing up my hpal as alt#1 and it doesnt feel good, hard to push up bars and get through pulls. Idk if they are gear and stat dependent, but comparing it to my Pres evoker, resto shammy, even mist monk, its a night and day difference in terms of straight throughput

Pres evoker and resto shammy are insane right now! Mist is also pretty nuts. There are moments where I feel your pain on trying to push bars though. Usually I align those moments with Wings, Virtue, Holy Light buffed and Divine Toll. Even a holy prism sometimes. I've found that to be a good way to push bars up quickly. Knowing when that damage is coming out as well allows us to prevent it even further with Aura Mastery. Building holy power and pumping Eternal Flame/WoG gets you there, but once we have more haste and crit we should feel this pain far less.

Im still a little torn between beacon of faith vs virtue. With our aoe on demand healing being so poor with the dawn of light, virtue seems necessary. But like you said i wonder if total healing would be better with beacon of faith due to the mastery.

light of the martyr is an overall healing loss due to the healing absorb. Literally every other site and information about holy pally says not to take it. The absorb gets way too large and you have to heal yourself making it a overall loss. may want to check again

Hey my boy frost, this is a different build then what you will see on sites like WoWHead. All the information I provide was from my own experience with the build along side the Holy Pally I follow who is top ranked in NA, Ellesmere. Lights Martyr brings a huge amount of initial healing back Holy Shock (which I love) and honestly if you are dealing damage and paying attention to yourself the shield absorb will really never get out of hand. As always play the build you feel most comfortable with but I do encourage you to try this one out :) Good luck and have fun!

I don't find the healing absorb to be cumbersome at all yet. Might change with tier sets. I'd rather have my shocks pack more punch in M+ settings. You can deal with the absorb whenever you like and however you like. Eternal flame/ truth prevails will also wittle it down. Does it becomes unbearable at higher ilvls and crit %?

I don't actually think beacon of virtue applies the 5% damage reduction to the entire group currently. I believe it's only applying it to the initial target cast on.

Also you recommended using Holy Prism and getting your Dawnlights out before popping Wings, however I believe that’s not the correct play as you lose Sun’s Avatar value this way. Wings Dawnlights can go on targets you already put them on.

Wings also extends the duration of all current dawnlights, hence why it is recommended to apply dawnlights from holy prism before wings

@@13JasonCastillo Recommended by who? General consensus amongst the HPal theorycrafters on the Discord is that’s a misplay. You want to Wings first before spending your HPrism Dawnlights. Because otherwise you could get less Dawnlights total as the Wings ones go out at random and could go on a target you already cast EF on.

Looks like the Discord is weighing Haste>Crit for M+ and Haste>Mastery for Raid. This was how it was weighed last expansion as well. I primarily focus on M+ content and prog. The Discord is always up to date though so prioritize stats accordingly to the type of content you want to focus. This guide had a few wrenches thrown at it as well once it came out. I will be updating it for 11.05 since we will be receiving a lot of changes.

@@slickftw the 30% damage reduction on a 2min cooldown for anyone is HUGE. Give it to your tank during a huge pull or tank busters. Give it to a DPS when they have a big dot or one shot mechanic on them and bang they live. Even if you just give it to the tank on cooldown it’s far better than not using it at all. May not sound like a lot of damage reduction but it can mean life or death for someone a lot. Especially those DPS who can’t hit a defensive 🤣😉

@@slickftw it’s technically both and you’re only taking the 30% of the damage you’re reducing. So if they’re hit for 100 you take 30 damage. If it’s ever too much damage you can bubble and take zero damage during the buff. It also will never kill you, the buff ends as soon as you hit 20% life. Which has never happened to me personally. I barely notice the damage I take it from it, usually something a few holyshock or word of glory solves.

Sac increases the tank's effective health with a sizeable portion of your own. This means that the mob has to chew through not only the tanks whole health bar, but also a chunk of yours. If we squint a bit, The brew stagger mechanic just redirects the damage to x seconds in the future, it doesn't mitigate any DMG at all (they can clear only a portion afterwards) but it's considered one of the strongest tank mechanics in the game for a similar reason!
