Kind of makes sense. Brotato is a whole bunch of stat juggling, which is pretty much the only game mechanic that existed in DOS era. I'm not *that* old, but I did grow up on Fallout 2 and building different characters was the most fun part. I don't think I ever even finished the game.

It kinda makes sense... As a father in my mid 30s, Brotato is interesting enough to watch during a break, and casual enough to not demand much effort in understanding or learning anything... Dex also has a pleasant personality, as he does not try to be overly energetic and still manages to be funny with his reactions whenever the game trolls him, which happens with surprising frequency 😂

It looks like when you obtain items from chests, the default option is to take the item. Due to the differences in item sizes (or rather, the length of their description), the "take" option may briefly be highlighted when hovering over either of the selectable options. So, if you span-recycle (like a true german should), you may take an item by accident. Still, kudos to you for sticking to the challenge and not giving into the temptations of idustrialization.

26:57 - I guess the number in parenthesis for the coupon could be the quantity of items that were acquired using the discount, or how much was saved in the last wave... Edit: did the math and he apparently spent 1340 materials on the previous round, so if the coupon he had was for 8.89% discount, that would result in the 119 number shown in parenthesis, but that would also mean that Brotato rounds numbers up only on the UI, and the actual numbers are not rounded (thus 8.89% instead of 9%)... Edit 2: checked the video and the first coupon was actually for 7%, so the numbers do not match up...

Btw Dex you are able to get a 100% chance to curse at least one item if you use the trick that takes advantage of the pitybonus. If you have a Fish Hook and you lock an item in the shop and start the wave but pause and look if you got a pitybonus or not. If you have one you got to the main Menu, resume, are back in the Shop, and start the wave again. This way it resets the chance to curse something as you always get the chance of x% to curse something as you leave the shop. Maybe this coud be considered a bug or an intended feature that can be used as a loophole. Hope you can make some use of this trick in the comming videos.

The weapons aiming to the top right might be because of them losing their target with too much fire rate, thus they default to coordinate 0 on the map. (Better to do that to handle exceptions than crashing the game)

they shoot upwards because of the Eyepatch the "10% miss chance" is actually the projectile slightly diverting from it's original path towards the nearest enemy if you got a few of those they will go all over the place. all for just 1 meagre pierce update

Yea, the issue here is the item needs to be Cursed, which has to randomly appear (I'll definitely not lock an item just to Curse it), but the issue with that is that Curse reduces negative penalties significanlty. So even a -10 Harvesting would go down to -5/-4 IIRC, while I also can't take items that are automatically cursed and give Harvesting

You can quit to main menu when starting a round to reroll the fish hook curse chance. You wont know exacty what is cursed since the only way to tell is if the "pity bonus" is 0. Atleast it guarantees one item to be cursed

Dex I got a challenge that I don’t think you can complete. You can take anything from chests but you can only buy one wepon and one item from the shop per shop phase. I wish you luck!! Edit: you can start with any character and any weapon. If you want it a little easier if you don’t buy a weapon you can buy 2 items.

Tbh did sounds a lot like this here kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3jahGCwobiGo5Y where I was only allowed to steal 1 thing per round, no Crates or such. And a big limitation there was that I had to sometimes take worse items since if it goes wrong, I'll face an Elite. So if I can just play any char and buy anything (once per round) AND on top of that use all the Crates, I think it will be significantly easier. Simply because I could go for something like Loud, Baby or tbh just Builder where I don't even need the material

The curse is more like a log or a square rot increase, bc with 25 you have 5 but ith 772 you only have 14(the sqrot(772) is 23 so its even more low scalling than that) you would need mora than 10k curse to get close to 100%

My first creature run i got a super early flamethrower which is just stupid on him because normally the flamethrower only gets 1% elemental scaling. Also got two early celery tea to counter his -exp scaling and a second cursed flamethrower about half way in.

What if you went for insane turret attack speed, but *ONLY* got 2-3 healing turrets? Like actually make not taking any other turrets a hard rule for the run? With enough armor and engineering/HP scaling it might be fun to see how far you can take it, because it's basically just a challenge to see how far you can get before every enemy one-shots you.
