And to think that role of Del was originally created for Jim Broadbent. Broadbent has said many times since that he regretted declining the role of Del, which led to him being cast as Roy Slater as John Sullivan still wanted him in the series in some way. David Jason, who was still working on Open All Hours when this show started, wasn't even a second choice. The second choice was then unknown Billy Murray, later known for his role of Johnny Allen on EastEnders. The twist of fate was that when John Sullivan went to a play to see and interview Murray for the role, he met then completely unknown Roger Lloyd Pack, who was in the same play, by chance and eventually created role of Trigger for him.

@maxhowlett96615 жыл бұрын
It's not the writers that are the problem, it's the people watching. If OFAH came out today, it wouldn't even make the cutting room floor with some of the jokes in this programme. You unfortunately cant make the same jokes you could in the 80s :/

Paw X Paw - I wouldn't be surprised if you're a 15-year-old millennial who thinks that there were microwaves on the Titanic. 🙄 Bare in mind that this episode was from 1983 or something. It was from one of the very early series of Only Fools and Horses, anyway. At the time, Microwaves were still in their infancy here in the UK and therefore would have been highly sought after. So the theft of one like this would have required involvement from the top brass of law enforcement due to their market value.
