Absolutely, you can tell. He doesn't want to ask, because there is guests. You can totally tell he's thinking. 'Now what's happened' Should've have been a deleted scene. With Rodney asking Del what went on. Rodney: What happened earlier, with the gravy. You poured loads on Albert's dinner. Del: it wasn't gravy, it was coffee, that dozy old git mixed them up. Rodney: I don't believe him.

This is the true final episode as was intended. An absolute celebration of all of John Sullivan’s skill in one episode, quite brilliant. Never ever loved a series like this one. Tears and laughter together- takes a special writer to achieve that.

Just learned that Michael Jaysten who plays James Turner in this clip from only Fools died on the 5th February aged 88. He was a brilliant actor and also played the valeyard in the dr who 14 parter The Trial of a Time Lord opposite 6th Doctor Colin Baker. Sleep well you will be missed. Great actor.

The concept is great, the gravy boat line is a belter and the naval man always gets me. One of the finest scenes. Del's face at the end does so well to convey that he knows the gravy-coffee will be hilarious but it's also not going to do his Raquel any good.

The one thing that strikes me about this scene is just how much times have changed. Back then, if you were hosting a dinner party at your residence, you and your guests would get dressed up smartly, suit and tie, dress and matching accessories: nowadays, it's barely even smart casual and that's something I miss.
