I find that ending song's lyrics further gives us insight into the perspective of Julian and the things he hopes for to happen.

+WillMLFilm Thank you for making that vid with in-depth look into OGF.I feel like as though we are in the minority that actually think that this movie is actually as good as other Refn films.I honestly think that in a couple years down the line there will be a critical re-evaluation of this film similar to Enter the Void. Also if you don't mind I posted your video and Chris's for posterity.You know the way youtube works sometimes videos/channels suddenly close,and I hoped that at least there is a backup.

+newbands1 wow, rough night. You kinda predicted it. So your video actually inspired me to take off the copyright claims on my original video to make it available to watch in the US and France again (where it was previously blocked), so when I removed the copyrighted material and submitted the edits, youtube apparently did another scan and my video was blocked worldwide. Trying to figure out a way to edit the current video and not have to re-upload. We'll see. Still sucks :(

If you understand the lyrics to the karaoke songs you will have more of a understanding of the movie. Julian was trying to court Mai threw out the movie. It was like a sub plot. It's kinda taboo because she's a dancer. When Julian's mother asked him to kill his brother's killer he tells her its more complicated then that. I think this has to do with Mai being related to Chang. She was with Julian when he went to hear Chang sing. Mai is apart of Chang's entourage after this scene too. The final song Chang sings is about a man who can not express his love to his lover. He chooses to love her any way only if it's in his dreams. The song is a reference to Julian not being able to love Mai and his sexual daydreams of her. He really can't do what he longed to do, to touch Mai with his hands. Julian putting his hand in his mother's womb is a longing for a simpler time, his infancy.

I know this is really late, but how could Chang allow his daughter to be a prostitute after punishing a man for letting his daughter be one?

I think Chang was a boxer who is retired and he knew Julian a while ago, but he became clean and became a good man, a god like figure. Julian has a statue of Chang with a stance that is mimicked by Chang throughout their fight. Chang knows all of Julian's moves which is why Julian can never hit him. Julian's mother was at the fight too, so she knows who Chang is now, and she knows 100% that Julian cannot defend her against Chang but she STILL asks Julian to defend her anyway. This is because she wants Julian killed. The whole hand in stomach or womb scene was very interesting. It is apparent that she asked Julian to kill his father as she is very manipulative, suggesting some type of domestic violence issues. Perhaps Julian was her son by marriage and billy was her "first born son" as she always refers to him. Perhaps she never bore Julian in her womb. Perhaps it was a lie to manipulative him. So he cute her and places his guilt inside her.
