Its a really helpful phrase. I once where in Kanazawa and saw someone with an open shoelace. I said only すみません and pointed towards his shoe. After a confused look of him he realised what I meant and was very thankful. This small story's will be the cherry on your Japan trip. 🍒

That's really helpful, I didn't know sumimasen can also be used as thank you, but it makes so much sense!

The phrase I wish to learn for my second trip to Japan is how to say to someone that was nice and helpful : "Thank you, it is kind." Would it be : "Arigato ! Yasashi dess ! " ? 😀🌸
@JapanwithNao
@JapanwithNao 5 ай бұрын
It's understandable but Okizukai Arigatou Gozaimasu (Thank you for your concern/kindness) is more natural I guess😀

Thank you for another new video. When is it applicable to use しつれいします instead of すみません?
@JapanwithNao
@JapanwithNao 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching😉 A difficult question!haha しつれいします is more like using when we leave gathering or meeting earlier, cross in front of people (especially when they take a photo). So I would say we say that especially when we do something which bother others a bit?

@JapanwithNao - Well, it is still really good haha, it is impressive you can speak so well in the videos if you’re not practicing it with other people! 😄 Oh cool - where did you study abroad? Did you not make any English-speaking friends you could practice with while you were studying? 😊
