Libre office is my favorite office suite. It works well for my needs, but for compatibility with older operating systems, Open office is your best friend. I've tried Only office, but I find it a bit confusing to use, compared to Free office, Libre office, and open office. Great video by the way 👍

​@@linuxmench2118Free office is relatively new I think, and OpenOffice was around well before LibreOffice. OpenOffice hasn't had any new features since 2014, so I wouldn't recommend using it, it looks outdated as well, compared to a more modern looking LibreOffice. I think LibreOffice is the best for beginners, but OnlyOffice might be a great alternative, although I don't really like it much.

Do you prefer Cinnamon desktop or KDE? Does Arch feel snappier than Mint? In terms of how fast the system respond to open a program/window or application.

To me, Arch feels snappier than Mint. I never lived in KDE, just played with it a bit and didn't like it. Too heavy and Clunky. Cinnamon is my favourite DE and Awesome is my favourite WM. I like the feel of Cinnamon, light for a DE, simple, easy to use, has everything you need, and I love its weather app.

Thank you for another great video!!! As a Linux beginner migrating from Linux Mint to Arch (currently trying Endeavour), what would be the best resource to study the fundamental of Arch? Book or video series? I can tell from your video that you have a solid fecundation on knowledge of Arch. I don't just want to type in command and fulfill a goal without knowing why I need to type specific command, why I need to create or modify specific config or other system file...Thanks again.

Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback. I think the best way to read about Arch is the Wiki on the Arch Linux website. It explains everything you need to know and many things will apply to Debian base systems as well.

great video,i love libre office.maybe you can help me out with a seperate issue,i can,t get awesome or i3 wm to function on linux mint 21.1,it works fine on my older laptop running arcolinux.i,m at a loss.thanks mench,also i did watch your video on adding awesome,it just will not set up,i logged out but it will not appear on cinnamon icon on log in window.your a mench

Libre Office is also a great app. Seems strange Awesome and i3 won’t show up as an option in your login manager. I’m at work. Tonight I will turn on my Mint 21.1 VM to see if it works. You might try logging in from a tty but I can’t explain it at the moment. Thanks for watching and for the positive comment.

Are you using the default login manager that came with Mint? Did you change any settings in it? At the login manager, opposite your name at the right, there is an icon. Click it and it should bring down a menu with icons for i3 and Awesome. Try rebooting. You can change your .xinit file and try logging in from tty with startx . But this is something for a video, too hard to explain in text. You could try reinstalling your login manager from the App repository.
