I like the creativity of scratch built and the mass production ability of 3d printed terrain

I love them both. Scratch building is where i started and printing is where I am now. Personally i'd love to see some builds that incorporate a whole bunch of different methods in one! How about using some cardboard or foam panels, then embellish with junk bits and printed greeblies? Have you ever tried the "sprue goo" method? I like how you can roll out big panels, then texturize them with rollers. Then add some laser cut mdf or printed embellishments...then add gravel and flock. No need to stick to just one style! Use them all!!

I will be doing all of that very soon, I plan on making some really big building for the roll-up matt that I just finished with this very idea in mind!

Yes. 3d printers are a tool.

I don't have a 3d printer and will probably never get one so I love watching and making scratch built or kit bashed scenery . Great vid 👌

I think that we all started with scratch building, and there is something a little more creative about it vs. 3d printing.

Hey Troy, nice work as always. Troy i got a question about 3D printers and you strike me as an expert. Do you remember those micro machines from the 90s? the little plastic jets and aircraft carriers you could collect? Do you know if its possible to print them? If so then whats the name of the right 3d printer and software required for it?
@FacilityD20Күн бұрын
Yes I remember them well it defiantly is possible. I recommend Phrozen Sonic Mighty 4K: phrozen3d.net/hgDFn and a wash and cure machine. The slicer program you would need to use is free online there are a few of them I would recommend chitubox software

Could I use a white cloth from the fabric store instead of cleaning wipes? Or do the wipes have something special about them I missed?
@FacilityD20Ай бұрын
No, i think that would work too. Cleaning wipes are just small and have an interesting texture.
