An OG here. I have a black 2020 model. Aside from the boy racer rear wing and the problematic low front air dam, this is the most grownup car I’ve ever owned. Absolutely thrilled with it. 32mpg at 85mph all day long. Has excellent passing power. Excellent road car for Nana and me. I just ask, if anyone sees a couple of old folks hauling ass down the interstate, kindly move outta of our way.

My wife and I bought the Avalon TRD in 2020, and oh boy the looks you get when you step on the gas pedal. Unfortunately and fortunately for me the Avalon is discontinued, but that just means the TRD model will be a rare bird.

There's no replacement for displacement. Sadly the beloved bread & butter civic sport went to a 1 5 turbo in 2016. Guess they believe my friend who says the smaller the better for mileage ..

@2trdmustanggtfordf1hdsgsfa80 2 жыл бұрын
@@rstuff1605 Absolutely right! I bought the TRD to replace a Yaris. The reason was.... While the Yaris got excellent mileage around town, it sucked on the interstate. I live in the Ozarks, many elevation changes. Pulling hills with A/C required 3500 to 4000 rpm to maintain momentum. Anyhow, my TRD average combo driving for 25K miles has been 28.3 mpg. And I drive rather aggressively. My only complaint is the frontend paint seems to chip easily. They just don't make paint that can standup to the debris from tailgating folks. Oddly, all my vehicles have weak paint...LOL

The cam timing is actually VVT-iW allowing the engine to run in a modified Atkinson Cycle mode at low RPM. It also has both direct and port injection (D4S) On a recent trip I set cruise for 97kph (60mph) and got 42 MPG US or 5.6L/100km. That’s over 620 miles (1000km) on a full tank. I love my V6 XSE though for the better creature comforts.

LED taillights should never only be on upper trim levels in any car. The tail/brake light is too small for such large assemblies, but still better than my wife's '17 Camry. Also, I personally dislike the trend of using white needles on white gauges, but here they did the same in red - just a form of brutalism.

Though these Camry's are sick looking now. Mine as it is it does look sporty with the factory little spoiler which has the 3rd brake light and a sun/moon roof so I always ride with it tilted so it looks sporty. I would have chosen the TRD, but Toyota left out some interior comfort features and Cabin noise reduction of the TRD therefore I selected the Camry XSE V6. Too bad they just did not make an XSE -TRD version. Meaning incorporate the TRD components into the XSE. I'm getting the 2023 Camry XSE V6 which is expected to be the last year Toyota will utilize the V6. Toyota intends to discontinue the 3.5L V6 in 2024 only offering the i4, i4 Turbos, and Hybrids. Nice job pointing out the mechanical essentials on the TRD and for us to inform Shop Mechanic where to hoist/ lift points as not to damage the car. I realize you do the Sporty versions. I bought my wife a 2022 Honda Civic Touring, but you covered the Si and/or Type R. I would have been ecstatic had you reviewed the Camry XSE V6.

This is a kind of Camry I'd buy. Though I feel this urge after watching almost every Sarah's review. Also blue is my favourite colour, and this kind of blue looks cool, especially with the black rims.

Toyota knows what they're doing. After getting tired of having issues with American designed I've had a tundra for years with 0 issues...now I need a daily because gas prices.

I like the car. And I'd definitely get it if I was in the market for a sedan as long as I could remove the wing without replacing the trunk lid. Camry's tend to have a floaty ride, and I imagine this model mitigates it. This may be counterintuitive, but a floaty ride (especially for what Toyotas are known for) is worse for passengers, unless they like vomiting.

When you are you gonna do a review on AWD Camry? I would be quite interested on your input. Coming from 2020 FWD to 2022 AWD; there's huge difference.

When Toyota does something to a car it's there for a reason. This is a nice grandpa hot rod. Mine is an oddball TRD. SE with a four cylinder, sunrooof and TRD goodies, no wing .Watch out whipprsnappers.

Sarah: chuckle for you with today's experience . My old MINI started smoking and smelling today. I thought "this is it. It's on fire and the demise will be quick". Got my fire extinguisher out to put out the engine fire and under the hood was about a pound and a half of peanuts. 🐿

Yes, stiffness is important. Other than the exhaust, this is more a kit of TRD's all over. Sounds like it's faster than it is...
