Polyphony is Greek in origin: Poly - many (antonym is mono - one), phony - sound (same root as phonic, used in telephone, tele - far, phone - sound). Polyphony - many sounds. Whether meaning many pitches or melodies, there isn't a distinction. You will sometimes hear digital keyboards or virtual synthesizers described as polyphonic vs monophonic. Old monophonic synths could only voice one key at a time, polyphonic synths could play more than one.

Why I love Polyphia, is because everyone shines. There is no lead player, just two amazing guitarists, an absolute unit of drummer, and quite literally the best bassist I have heard, all melded into Americans Band. Tim brings the super electronic sound we recognize, but Scottie brings that screaming metal lead influence, Clay is literally destroying bassist stereotypes with his iconic playing, and Clay is just slaughtering his drums. I love Polyphia.

The only reason Scott's not as popular as Tim is because he doesn't upload enough videos and is less of a content creator than Tim is. Tim is very multi-talented and gives a lot of effort to try to push his brand and do business they both certainly deserve their spots wherever they are.
