Cool review. On my Mathews V3X 29 i have a spot Hogg fast Eddie xl wt a shrewd optum 35mm scope wt a shrewd rod for adjustments and a shrewd 4 power lens great for 3D and hunting.

So what was your speed with the 303gr arrow and what was the max distance you were able to achieve with that arrow before your fletch hit the scope housing?

The 303 gr arrow is 319 fps. I can go to 125 before the vanes risk contact with the scope housing.

Just purchased one of these Sights, has anyone had any issues with this Sight defaulting from Meters to Yards on power down and Power up ?? I’m still awaiting a reply from Bear before I return it as currently this is not a Precision Unit.

I've not heard of this issue. Something I kept messing up when I first got it is not press and holding the select button on the selections I wanted so that they saved. For example, once YDS is blinking, press and hold the select (top) button until it stops blinking and stays solid. As far as being a "precision unit", I'm unsure what you mean. My buddies and I have found it to be incredibly accurate and we are able to dial to .5 yards. I'm no pro but it does very well for me at my 3D events and TAC's.

generic tapes don't usually work out perfect for me just close and the FPS way is based on highly inaccurate chronographs so thats a no go... wanted to create a perfect custom tape with this but not looking like thats an option. Thats one of the two reasons this caught my eye, the other being large readout so I am squinting to see tapes in dim light or blazing sun.

So... I only use the chrono read out as a starting point. I'll get the 20 yard pin dialed in and set the speed and start from there. I usually go to 40 or 50 yards after that and it's usually within 2 yards from being perfect. While standing on the 50 yard line, if my sight is set at 52 yards and I'm hitting accurate then I can change it to 50 yards on the spot and it'll micro adjust for all the other ranges. I usually then go back to 70+ and if its a yard off there, I just make another "on the spot" change and it recalculates again. I do have. a paper backup on the other side of the sight. I placed a blank label and just made marks where the digital side said I was. Hope that helps.

Well... there are pros and cons to each. I really enjoy the accuracy of the TR but I love the 3 pin of the Spot Hogg. I'd say you really don't "have" to upgrade but if you did and you're only hunting with it then go with the Trophy Ridge Digital 3 Pin! In my mind, that's the prefect sight for hunting bc you'll have a permanent 20 and 30 pin, which is most of the shots we take, but when you need 40 yards and more the bottom pin will be crazy accurate at those longer ranges when you need accuracy most.

Is the battery life going to be an issue with hunting?

@@zacariahschurman6707 Not at all. I've shot a tournament, accidently left it on overnight and shot a second tournament the next day and got through it all with 1 bar of battery left. Even if you leave it on and it dies, it has a rapid charge to 80% in 10 or 20 minutes and that's plenty for a whole day of hunting. Plus you can put a backup "paper tape" on the backside as a backup.

Just chose this sight last weekend my bow in the shop right now chose this on spur of moment why this...cause I wanted a total upgrade from the past I wanted the best of the best Arrows and blades cost to much to miss my target and I love to Eat so missing Deer isn't what I chose to do if you want great work on your Bow and you live in South Carolina look up Hunters Headquarters of Greenwood they're professional at their job with Bow and Arrow.

I'd love to try this out, but unfortunately hunting with electronics allowed attached to a bow is illegal in my state.

The electronic part is detachable for your state rules. So, you can practice with it and get it dialed in easily, then place a paper on the opposite side with your distance markings and disconnect the digital piece when you're actually hunting.

3 Pins? I'm not sure what you are referring to? But with my 1 pin sight, I was able to dial out to 125 yards. It will go farther if your arrow is lighter. My sight would bottom out at 132 yards but I could only go to 125 before my arrow vanes hit the scope housing.

I bought a pse revenge bow and the is a react but it doesn't look like that,

Yes... the "React" is a series of sights made by Trophy Ridge. It simply means that you are able to adjust all the pins at the same time by only setting the 20 yard pin and any second pin you wish. This sight is the digital version of that technology. I still have my older React 5 pin that required me to use a tool and turn it to spread out or shorten the pin distances. You can set only the 20 and 30 pins but the farther out you are able to set the more accurate the other pins will be. Hope that makes sense.

That video is a great idea. I think I'll do that when I order another batch. I shot the Axis 4mm LR last year. I love that arrow as well but it's quite a bit heavier.

I bought my pse revenge from a friend, this pse revenge is from 2013, the react sight that's on it, is a one pin, with some kinda gang adjustment inside the gearbox, I understand most of it, but not the inside of the gearbox, it's a one pin, it might have been a $200 sight

So I won this sight in a contest, and am new to archery. Is it a good idea to sight in the bottom pin at 30 yards? Or will that mess up the technology.

Short answer is No. It won't mess up the calculations. You just need to make sure it's all the way at the top and set your 1st number to 30. Then as you move the sight down you'll set the second pin. You'll have to set the top two pins to less than 30 yards while the sight it at the top. Hope this helps.

Hey... I actually just tested it at ranges up to 120 just yesterday! It performed amazingly and I was 2 for 2 at 120 yards. I actually entered my first archery competition last week, more of a club "fun shoot", and we shot at ranges of 40-60 yards and I took 3rd with my hunting setup and this sight. I will say that if you run a hard helical on your arrows like I do then setting it by the speed is a good start, but I noticed I was hitting just a little low at 60 yards bc the vanes create a little more drag. I simply went in the sight and set the second distance to 60 once I was dialed in and it has been incredibly accurate now.

I didn't mean to make anyone feel like they had to get this sight. I saved up and I purchased as a birthday gift for myself and I'm a big fan of it. There are TONS of great sights out there that you can pop a lens into and I'd be glad to help you find one that fits your setup best. Either way, Optix 300 has a big selection of lenses for many sights. I def don't know everything but glad to help with what I do know. Happy shooting.

The question isn't whether the sight is great or not. I like it and was merely querying the above. Surprisingly, it took hours for me to find out - 41mm and yes you can use a Mag Lens. John

I guess that's a possibility but I don't think there's "crazy potential" for that. I have, like many hunters, my hunting prechecks that I do and checking the battery level and profile is on that checklist.

At the end of video you shot the 2 arrows from the same distance! You shot the lighter arrow last and you said that 29 was showing on the sight! If you were shooting both arrows at 20yds why wouldn’t you move sight to 20yds for the lighter arrow! Or say you move back to 37 yds and shot the light arrow, would you move the sight to 37 yds? Confusing!

I understand the design and how it works but why do people think this is more efficient because of the computer algorithm inside? Plus it requires power. It's really just a fancy slider in the end. The CBE sights and others sliders IMO are more reliable in the long run. NO ELECTRONICS to rely on. I personally enjoy and like sighting in and getting marks and pins set. Just saying👍👍
