To anyone who thinks this is supposed to be a slick, produced, repaired, auto-tuned, quantized, perfected version of a song in a controlled musical environment: This is just us playing live, not knowing how many seconds were left at any given section of the song. We were not being featured, nor were we being listened to and enjoyed by an enthusiastic music audience. Instead, it was us winging it, in a roomful of people and distractions of a TV show being taped all around us. We were doing the best we could and had no idea we were being taped or would ever be listened to (except for the first and last few notes). Apologies to all haters for the imperfections. Welcome to honest music making.....

Will Lee dude, are you kidding? this is superiorly awesome and anyone should know it. the only bad thing about watching the late show over all these years on television is missing things like this that were only seen live and not broadcasted on the show. Will.... LOVE listening to you play, man.

Will, no apologies are necessary.Anyone who bitches or hates here has no appreciation for good music ... or the musicianship to get here. I've often decried the fact that the TV audience only ever got a very small taste of what this band could do. Get into a studio and crank out some arrangements, head or chart, before you guys go your separate ways ... because it's usually next to impossible to bring back the energy. Well done.

Well, I am trying to do some delving into some of the television house bands on late night television. There was the greatest one - Doc Severinsen and the Tonight Show Band. And of course, Jay Leno's band with Marvin "Smitty" Smith giving us some great drumming fireworks. Arsenio Hall had his house band which was called "The Posse", with Starr Parodi doing keyboards and even some singing. And then, this band, which was formerly called "The World's Most Dangerous Band"--now the CBS Orchestra, on the David Letterman late night show. I had seen all of these TV house bands and they are all good. I also realize that Anton Fig's funky drums and Paul Schaffer's jazz organ licks reminding you of greats like Jimmy McGriff or Lonnie Smith works wonders in that 'Only So Much Oil" song. And Tom "Bones" Malone - was that the sax player who played sax for the 1980's flick, "The Blues Brothers?"
