You can also do this with Credit Spreads. $5 wide spreads sold at around 0.10 to 0.20 Delta can provide a nice cashflow with $500 in capital per spread. He has other videos about this.

I began investing at the age of 33, primarily utilizing my hard work and dedication. Now at the age of 38, I am delighted to share that my passive income exceeded $100k for the first time in a single month. This advice is truly valuable, so don't hesitate to take action. Remember, it's not about achieving wealth quickly, but rather about building wealth consistently and persistently.

I never expected it, but after closely monitoring my portfolio's performance, I was astounded to see it generate a staggering $473k in just the past two quarters. This eye-opening experience has given me insight into why experienced traders can achieve remarkable returns even in lesser-known markets. Taking this leap was undoubtedly the boldest decision I have made recently.

Love love love that you took the time to teach these strategies! My husband made me watch your video June 9th. The following day, I performed a put credit spread on SPY. All I can say is... I'm hooked!!! In a week of trading I took my $6, 300 portfolio and increased it by a little over $3K! That said, in the last week my portfolio has increased by 40.50%. It's so easy it's scary... Kind of waiting on the other shoe to drop scary! But, I'm here for it. Again, thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge! God Bless & Safe Travels

Very sorry to say that I have been using put credit spread for SPY for the last 10 years and it is not possible to earn 40% even in a year. SPY does not go up steadily, it bounces up and down. When it goes through the lower strike price the loss is 4 or 5 times the premium you collect.

Very true, people downplay advisors role, until burnt by their mistakes. He makes the 2 million fast trading Tesla with out of the money spreads then says I'm just here for the people who are serious and want to get rich slowly only opening 15 delta credit spreads that make like $20 with risking $500. Nobody who already has 6 figures and knows anything would ever spend their time watching these silly videos where he contradicts himself from like 2 videos earlier all the time like with rolling for example where he says it's stupid one video then a week later rolling is great and that's what he always does. Mixed in with trick thumbnails and titles and weird mood swings and trashing America even though he'd never have that 2 million if he grew up in Moldova or Ukraine. I'm sure rich, "serious", sophisticated investors are just lining up to take his advice.

The premium is usually much higher on cash secured puts than on covered calls. I prefer CSP. And on a large Portfolio it is easier. If you have only 100 shares and price drops 30% you either sell a call which is below your entry price or you get almost nothing for your call at Entry price.
@ProBuenoCo
@ProBuenoCo 5 ай бұрын
If the stock drops 30%, the CSP will get assigned and your assigned stocks will go down close to 30%. Am I missing something?
@finanziker
@finanziker 5 ай бұрын
@@ProBuenoCo Most likely, it depends on which strikeprice you have choosen. Usually when I sell a cash secured put I choose strike price 5-10% lower than current price so you have a margin of safety and if you are assigned you are down less than if you had just bought the stock and sold a covered call at your entry price.

Addressing Minute 6:50. Take a look at some 1-2 week debit call spreads with some good premiums. (Right now 03/18/2024 that’s NVDA, COST, META just for example) Set your probabilities around 15-20% on the short strikes. And then multiplying the contracts to get you decent amount of income. And quick too! Position size according to your account. Debit spreads/risk-free Long calls/1-2 week butterfly spreads/and of course all the credit spreads because they are just the bread and butter of options income.

Ahh.. that last comment mentioned about controlling expectations. That is the absolute key to good customer service (which I'm an expert at). So many businesses and people in general do not control expectations of the people around them. And, to have a good relationship (any relationship), you must always, always control expectations and, in the end, live up to them. Because, unmet expectations are the core to unhappiness.

I like selling covered calls on SOXL. It is pretty volatile so premiums are high. The call selling also reduces the volatility of owning a leveraged etf. I only sell calls when the rsi is high. I messed up in July and sold a call too early, but I was able to roll up on a dip and keep my shares. Now I'm looking to buy my call back in a week or two because the rsi is getting low so I can free up my upside.

What happens when the price drops below your buy price? My experience with single stocks has been mixed. Perhaps the SPY is less volatile and more predictible. A couple frustrating things I have done when the stock price dropped and seemed to be going nowhere and selling a call at a strike lower than the original buy price trying to bring in some income. The the underlying shoots back up, you are then rolling up and out at extremely long dates in the future . Need to change my mentality and sell at the highs, not the lows.

A covered call position has the same probability of loss as 100 shares of the underlying stock. The premium from the call merely lowers the position's breakeven price by the amount of the premium. But the probability that the stock price will fall is the same, with or without the call. I'm not saying you shouldn't write a covered call against your 100 shares of a stock, but you should realize that doing so is just as risky as owning 100 shares of the stock without the call.

1:18 Not quite. More often than not selling a Put has the added advantage of leverage. Although the risk profile might be similar the capital requirement is much lower in a margin account. Unless required to due to being forced to trade on a cash account, you will make the same return potentially on a covered call than a short put but on the put much less capital requirement.

I00% agree on covered calls. I took early retirement and I own 26 individual growth dividend stocks in which I sell covered calls strategically much further out like 4 to 6 months even up to 9 months. I also do the wheel strategy in a portfolio margin account primarily on the indexes and sector ETFs to eliminate single stock risk. Probably the only difference is I am predominantly a passive dividend investor that layers on CC just looking to double my annual dividend amount every year. The cash flow I generate from my portfolio margin account is icing on the cake.

I’ve been gravitating towards this strategy as my goal is primarily to hold long positions in SPY. This approach can be seen as an income strategy or a way to reduce cost basis. Most importantly, it helps me avoid exposure to individual stocks, which led to significant losses for me over the past two years.

Hi Henry, when do you close stocks that you running the wheel on? If you are up big on holding shares do you ever close them out? Or do you continue to sell calls and puts?

Problem with this is if we have a drawdown you will lose big. You should protect with a hedge.

In order to make Selling a PUT, must have $ for 100 shares for one contract right? For 10 contracts, it is needed a lot money. For small account, is it suitable? As it will be return a bit $ only for 1 or 2 contracts.

love your content and the full transparency. ignore the haters clearly they are not millionaires that bash your videos. Roll those 30 contracts up and out or buy them back. take the small hit your up so big on those shares from 435 cost basis. Just read your book great read.

I’ve only gotten into options trading this year. Only playing with a paper trade account currently but I need a consistent solid strategy before I truly start with real money.

If you're selling cash-secured puts and covered calls (wheel strategy) on great stocks you believe for the long-term (or especially on indexes like SPY), it's really a low-risk conservative way to be in the stock market

Are there any ETFs that run the "wheel" strategy on SPY behind the scenes and are traded as a single ETF? (if not, you should start one, Henry!) My 401k account allows buying ETFs but does not allow options trading.
