Only the destruction of Hamas will bring lasting piece

The situation in Gaza is appalling. War is always terrible. But after 7th October and the unimaginable acts of evil inflicted on innocent Israelis by Hamas, Israel has the right - and the duty - to protect its citizens by making sure this never happens again. The international community should everything it can to get aid to Palestinian civilians and help refugees, but we should not treat the world’s only Jewish state differently to other nations by denying its right to self-defence.
