@@tylereaw As you can see from the fight, Shade Cloak is sometimes not ready by the time TL dashes again, causing Miles to take damage that could have easily been avoided by pogoing him instead.

@@HumanoidDerpling only because he’s shade cloaking for no reason. He dashes to go through the up air to down air attack??? And then he shade cloaks, to get through the wall attack, and immediately goes in without resetting shade cloak. Shade cloak is a very consistent way to dodge the traitor lord. It’s just he and you don’t utilize it correctly. If you want I can show you.

It's interesting how much entertainment this game provides even after putting 150 hours in it. The radiant bosses make you look at pushover bosses like hive knight and the collector in a new way. Another epic video (I’m in it :D). There is one I cannot stress enough: *use descending dark* it gives quite a lot of immunity frames and can be useful when you don’t have shade cloak or after nail master Sheos pink attack. For p5 I think the boss you need to practice the most is markoth, they seem like a nightmare at first but when you get a good strategy down they get a lot easier. I wish you luck on pantheon 5 and I’ll see you next upload!

This past week I've been going through doing bosses on radiant. I got 6 left on the bottom floor (mostly coming from the far left), and have one done one of the top. The one thing I've come to realize, is a lot of bosses that are easy, are easy because you can tank through their hits and your dps feels in fact higher. But some harder bosses, your dps is lower but you know you can't tank many hits. That makes bosses like Oblobble (however you spell it), and even (for me at least), Hive Knight, much more difficult. Meanwhile Sisters of Battle is a boss fight where you do everything in your power to avoid every attack in order to keep up the tempo/rhythm.

That's what Hollow Knight is all about, and I think it's actually more impressive to do it with a, for lack of better term (and I don't want to come of condescending but this how I see it), less consistently effective strategy. You already earned your subscription from the quality of your videos (and lets be real, the quality of one single video, you know, the 40 minutes of bench), but your unorthodox way of taking out TL was fun to watch and if I wasn't already I would have subscribed just to watch more of that kind of stuff. @@MilesNugget Honestly I really don't actually know. All I know is that shade cloak is really difficult to gauge when the boss is randomly jumping around and using different attacks. Honestly it's just what works best for you, that's what Hollow Knight is about. I've always had a more airborne playstyle anyway. If you'd rather stay grounded I bet you could definitely learn how to use shade cloak to consistently dodge attacks, it's just that the recharge takes ages when you're dealing with a fast boss, so I don't rely on it.

People place Markoth low because they don't understand him. They don't know how to fight him consistently, so they just bang their heads against a wall until RNG favors them. A consistent way to dodge his needles is to use one of the walls as a floor, sliding down and jumping up to avoid most of them, briefly jumping off when a needle targets you vertically. For getting damage in, nail arts are your best friend. Dash Slash is the most useful one due to the range, but make sure you can double jump back onto the platform you attacked from. Save as much soul as you can in the first phase, and unleash a shade soul when he does the spinning shields.

True, but like still. Even if I perfected the fight so that I would do it damageless, I would still place it at (or near) the bottom. All the other bosses are way more fun in my opnion. But I am curious. Where would you rank Markoth and did your opinion change when you got better at him :)

​@@MilesNugget Well, fun is completely subjective, and I respect the opinions of those who dislike bosses I like. I just don't like it when people rank a boss fight low when they don't understand it. Answer 1: Markoth definitely isn't the best boss in the world, and without the godhome arena to flesh out his mechanics, he isn't nearly as good. I'd say B tier overall, A in godhome, C in regular play. Still the best dream warrior in my opinion, he feels like an actual boss and not a miniboss. Answer 2: Before fighting him in godhome I thought "Oh this is just the HK community being salty again, just like with Primal Aspids". After fighting him in godhome I reached the same conclusion as most other players: he was random crap. And, while practicing him for P5, I cracked the code, so to speak, and gained a new appreciation for him. There's a surprising amount of depth hidden in those 2 attacks and a lack of a floor. Also, I just wanna say I love that you interact with the community as much as you do. Granted, it's easier the smaller of a youtuber you are, but so many others just don't. You made a grass ranking because one guy kept begging for it, it doesn't get much more interactive than that.

2:25 a small tip (at least for me): when he does that thing attack, i always use descending dark, because its really hard to dodge his dash right after the attack thing… so you dodge the attack and you can still dash through him easily:)

So, I said I was gonna rank all the bosses in radiant, it’s here, they are from easiest to hardest for each tier: F tier, very easy bosses that don’t pose much of a threat : Massive moss charger; the exact same as it’s normal counterpart but a little longer to kill Elder Hu; you can still shadow dash through all of his attacks False Knight; very slow Crystal Guardian; predictable attacks Soul Warrior; his attacks all have easy counters and the follies aren’t really a threat Enraged Guardian; crystal guardian but slightly faster without double dmg Hornet Protector; very telegraphed attacks D tier, easy bosses but they might still kill you : Traitor lord; his attacks are repetitive and easily dodge able, the only danger is when he hits the ground and causes a shockwave since it might disorientate you Flukemarm; some flufekeys can take a hit, but they’re not very dangerous even then Dung Defender; you can melt it’s hp with descending dark very easily Mantis Lords; the rythm is quite slow so you should be able to dodge them fairly well Soul Master; the attacks are very telegraphed Hive Knight; a very controversial rank, but with a little practice I could learn his attacks very quickly The Collector; you can one shot the ennemies he spawns with strength and the only danger are the primal aspids Broken Vessel; he’s slow but kinda unpredictable Gorb; he takes some learning but he’s weak overall God Tamer; just go on top of them beast and pogo it C tier, the average difficulty, bosses here are not too hard but not too easy either : Brooding Mawlek; be patient and he will die eventually Troupe Master Grimm; If you’ve done all bosses normally,(except maybe AbsRad) then he should seem very slow compared to NKG Nosk; the RNG can kinda mess you up but the pace of the fight is consistent and it’s not too crazy Winged Nosk; slow but be careful about RNG Xero; tricky attacks but low hp Marmu; he bounces… a lot Gruz Mother; the spikes in the arena makes this fight much harder than normal Galien; you just have to be careful to not get trapped and to keep an eye on the big saw’s movement No Eyes; navigating through the arena is tricky but if she doesn’t TP too much it’s not hard at all Uumuu; it’s all about when the boss spawns the squids Failed Champion; much faster than fasle knight but manageable Lost Kin; he’s fast but he can be juggled around very well Vengefly King; having to fight 2 of them is very confusing but when one of them is dead you basically won Oblobbles; another controversial placement, but I didn’t find avoiding their acid spits too hard as long as you stay away from them and get 1-3 hits in when they aren’t shooting B tier, bosses here start to get hard, but it’s still not the hardest ones : Nightmare King Grimm; after doing him on lower difficulties, you should know his attacks well enough to be prepared White Defender; unpredictable and fast, but good reflexes will get you past him Soul Tyrant; his constant teleports make it hard to hit him and his are attacks are hard to dodge Grey Prince Zote; surprisingly easier than I expected, but seems like you can learn his attacks with a lot of practice Sisters of battle; a much faster version of the mantis lords, the new attack combos that they do make it hard to find breathing room and impossible to heal in their second phase Pure Vessel; mastering his attacks are hard but after beating him on easier difficulties you shouldn’t have this hard of a fight Paintmaster Sheo; he sometimes hits quickly, but the most threatening aspect of the fight is the paint falling from the sky because of the red and pink attacks Nailsage Sly; he’s extremely fast but once you learn how to keep him far away from you, it gets manageable A tier, very hard bosses that will test your skill and perseverance : Hornet Sentinel; unlike hornet protector, the attacks have almost no telegraphs so getting hits in without dying becomes very hard Oro and Mato; their high health pool and fast combo attacks make it very hard to take one of them down, but when you do, it’s basically over S tier, insanely hard bosses that only the most determined can beat : Watcher Knights; a small mistake can ruin your run, and with their very hard attack combinations, beating each one of them can prove to be a very hard task Absolute Radiance; exceptionally hard and overlapping attacks are a big part of the boss fight, and dodging them while trying to get her huge hp pool down requires insane reflexes MARKOTH; apdkshzosoqakjzossozuzsjsoos I hate this guy it’s just rng screw this man why is there no floor and why does he have shields and a second phase too AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH Keep in mind that’s just my opinion and I imagine you must’ve had very different experiences with the bosses, I’m just sharing that cause why not.

i have beaten every boss radiant, and markoth was the final one, it took me a few days. I used grubberflys elegy, quickslash, MoP, Unbreakable Streangth, and Sharp Shadow.

@@MilesNugget I DON'T recommend using elegy for Markoth, if your goal is P5. You will probably get a single hit very early and lose elegy, since it's P5 you might even enter the fight wounded!
