"I was not going to be the reason we lost tonight" is a pretty badass quote. Crazy that these dudes are the same age as me (Bennett is literally 2 weeks younger than me) playing in front of such a massive crowd and with that mental toughness to go out there and do that

Yeah, as a lifelong Alabama fan, I definitely remember when every game against Tennessee was a hard fought game & not easy to win! But here we are in the "Saban Era" & Saban has basically owned Tennessee each & every game. Rarely has the game ever been in doubt when the 2nd half started. His hand had the ball in it for at least 50% of the forward journey. Nothing in the rulebook says: "Must have the ball in your hand for the last 50% of the forward motion from the peak". He had the ball in his hand. Bad call. Over-refereeing. EDIT: All the Alabama fans coping in the comments that their Tide got another preferential call - it's ok, Georgia won to correct the record. Similarly to Georgia. But on the same token, Georgia doesn't focus on the heisman trophy. They focus on a group effort and play like an actual team. My take on the "was it a pass or not" rule is that as soon as the QBs arm starts to move forward, with the ball, it is now a pass. Th QB had possession of the ball when his arm started to move forward. A mix of the hit, and the throwing momentum sent the ball into the air in a weird way but I believe that it was a pass and therefore not a turnover.

Then you have to explain how the ball went forward 10 yards. Basic physics says that ball can’t go forward unless he makes it go forward. So the only way it could be a fumble is if he loses possession and still pushes the ball forward after he lost possession. I don’t see it in that play.
