For years now, Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain are 50% owners each of the company that owns Journey. Neither can fire each other. Ross Valory and Steve Smith were fired by Steve Perry, Neal Schon, and Jonathan Cain in 1986. Neal and Jonathan bought out Steve Perry in 1998. Hence, Neal and Jonathan being the only owners of Journey today.

Arnel has had a bad monitor mix for years in his in-ear monitors. Not that Schon or Cain ever did anything about it. When the band changed monitor mixer, Arnel could finally hear himself. Let me be clear here. If someone would have done that to my lead singer, I would have made that tech’s name public and roasted his name until he would be out of work. I wonder when people are gonna stop thinking of Arnel as Steves replacement... Steve was in Journey for 13 years (77-87 and 95-98). Arnel has now been in the band for 16 years and has released 3 new albums with the band. At 16 years he is actually the longest tenured lead vocalist in the bands history and is the 6th longest tenured member of ALL the musicians that have ever been part of the band! Had they not been blessed with finding him in 2007, Journey was destined to be doing the native American casinos tour and NOT selling out arenas as they have been since Arnel joined the band. Schon and his mrs should shut the hell up and stop trashing him on social media and they should be treating him as an equal, not an employee!

Nope. Doesn't work that way. The band hit the stratosphere with Perry. Not to mention Perry co-wrote the hits folks want to hear, and was an incandescent and beloved frontman. To this day, it's Steve's voice on the radio. And frankly don't think Schon wants another Perry, he likes being the boss, sticking solos in when he wants, has no shame about milking material Perry's voice put the stamp on. The only way Pineda is gonna be equal is on his own. Pineda's biggest asset is apparently he can put up with a lot of bs. Just like Augeri and Soto, AP is an employee. According to Schon, it's Schon's band.

Arnel carries the band for 15 yrs, will see what happens next if he quits the band, for sure no one can ever replace his voice that still reaches high notes at 54yo. Even SP can't at that age for 10-15 songs in consecutive concerts. Arnel sounds struggling and loses his voice from overworking with this band, his vocal needs rest just like any other singer. He's human not a slave. I only watch journey because of Arnel.

Arnel is great, Perry better. Amazing these old bands have survived in one form or another. Saw Journey with second opening show by the Doobie Brothers. All original members, they really were the main line act. Dave Mason opened for them both that night, also a classic who can still sing and perform.

Saw them last night. The sound mix was terrible. Toto sound was beautiful. Can’t understand how sound got worse over the evening.

I prefer that Arnel sings it with his style and not Perry's...he's not a clone! If a singer tries to sound like another singer...that's just like plagerism for $$$ and that's not wut great bands do! Leave that to the tribute bands! You CAN sing the same songs...with your interpretation...that's real music and artistry.

We also their PR firm called out Arnel and got so much backlash they created it as "the other guy" thinking sheep are that dense to not know.
