Only Using Airstrikes On Dutch Cruisers... How Bad Could It Be?

It would be pretty interesting if carriers had a similar range limit. Maybe not the same aiming mechanics, that would be a little silly, but limiting their range could make them more involved in surface to surface action and not just power into the A1 corner and pretend not to exist for the whole game.

considering that the planes have limited fuel, yes, range should be a consideration. But WG removes all realism from CV mechanics. ie no dev strikes on the ship that carries more ammo, bombs, torps, rockets, than any other ship.

I wish the tier 10’s machanics worked like this. 3 drops with 45 second recharge. They’re pretty situational and not easy to hit so I think it would make them more popular to have their gimic more available

I have been playing Dutch cruisers since they came into the game and were available to grind on their tech tree. Unfortunately, the Tier 10 Gouden Leeuw, Tier 9 Johan De Witt, Tier 8 Haarlem, Tier 7 Eendracht, and all of the other Dutch cruisers on the Dutch cruiser tech tree, DO NOT have depth charges! Wargaming knows that the Dutch cruisers don't have depth charges and hasn't done anything to fix this problem.

I so much wait your review when the new US line hubrid airstrikes BBs gonna get into the game since I also watched your other Dutch cruiser review a year ago, for a perticullar sentence: "I think it's going to be horrible for the meta" I believe it will be funny to put that as an intro before normally reviewing the new line :D

the d7p is amazing. love that boat. easily my favorite light cruiser. one of the only boats with viable AA; and it's a legit firestarter with it's guns. it also has really good conceal.

The airstrike is really well combined with your HE salvoes as a light cruisers, permafire burnings were never easier if you know how to aim. And with D7P you do not need to worry, that 40s reload is easy to just drop 1 on ships like Stalin in the vid, look at his reaction (turning, breaking?) and after 5-10 seconds unleash a follow up salvos of other two airstrikes in case the first one misses. Airstrike only is kind of dull gameplay (similar to submarine tbh), but the combination is really interesting. And nothing is more annoying then airstike specced dutch cruiser kiting away behind detection radius (10,6 detect on Goulden Leeuw with 13km airstrike range) and between occasional salvos when going behind islands or such it dropping some planes in you way here and there. D7P was also an absolute beast in T8 cruisers 12v12 brawls. Like you kite on 10-15km range, shit on closest target with shots and anything that even tries to disengage behind an island and stop/camp there did get bombed into oblivion. Maybe a bit higher skill-cap ship, but definitely worth it.

Yeah that 15 second Timer is a royal pain in the ass. And the stupid part is that even if you drop the strike as CLOSE as you can, it still takes 13 seconds for the bombs to descend, and it goes up to 15 seconds after only a couple KM. Don't get me wrong, given enough time you will adjust to it, but oh man those parachute bombs take FOREVER to hit something!

Played it this weekend, 200k damage, 90 planes shot down, destroyed 3 BB's (HE + airstrikes). It's a good ship when you know how to play it.

I finally did it, I uninstalled this hot piece of garbage after years and years of playing and having a few moments of joy here and there, sprinkeled around a majority of angry, frustrating, mad and sad moments that can even mess up your day. No other game that I own can bring so much sadness. So despite all the money I have put into this beast of a game, I just have to uninstall to detox, or i'll come back and realize quickly what a bad state the meta, the mm and wows in general really is. I will continue to watch your videos though as they are entertaining but god does this game make me furius so often. Have a nice day. Time to play something that makes me happy.

It means you need to be IN that 13km range and plane incoming direction gives away your position, while CV 20km+ from you is certainly not facing such restrictions

Friesland and Groningen don’t have torps… only Utrecht and another one that i forgot carried torps for 2 years
