This is so beautiful. It's a wonderful movie and there is so much tenderness and affection in it between Fred and Ginger that looks just genuine. It's absolutely worth the watch. But the ending had me bawling uncontrollably and it still hurts to think about it. Especially when both of them dance away as 'memories' in the end, you just become painfully aware that they're both gone. And really, the way this movie ends, it breaks your heart because you realize that Fred and Ginger should never ever be torn apart neither on camera nor off camera. They're a oneness and forever will be.

Irene castle was the techinical advisor for this movie- she wanted this "propsal" - ascene to be as close as possible to what actually happened- it was recorded in the same room. Vernon was killed on Feb 15-1918 while preventing a mid- air collison at Brooks Field in Texas- Student pilot in rear seat of the JN-4 aircraft as well as Vernons pet monkey survived the crash with minor or no injuries but Vernon was in the front seat which sadly took the full impact of the crash . Irene died in 1969.
