Popping In here to explain the "Entity" basically in the 5000 story the Foundation found something in the human subconscious which was the "Entity." It is responsible for the feeling of pain, and some other stuff. This scared the Foundation so much that the Ethics committee decided to be ethical to kill humanity. They first found a way to remove the "Entity." From some of their operatives subconscious allowing them to no feel pain and emulate SCP-682 behaviour by saying "Disgusting" when seeing a human body dead knowing the "Entity" resides in it. The "Entity" knowing this uses Pietro Wilson (The main guy we follow in the 5000 log) to trick him to use 055 and 274 and reset the world so that the Foundation never discovered it. So the Foundation was just in killing humanity. And there is a "Entity" that resides in our minds that controls pain and Guilt? That's going to keep someone up at night. TL;DR: Bad "Entity" in human subconscious that controls negatives emotions.

My guess is that Site 19 is somewhere in the USA and Site 62C is somewhere around Mongolia (I have done my research, this is a rough estimate). Which means the hell that Pietro Wilson went through just to save humanity is beyond torture. As long as SCP-2000 is still in check, you could do that too which reboots humanity but assuming that it is destroyed or the anomalies are too dangerous and hard to contain, then using the 55/579 strategy is effective. This is also done in the Daybreak timeline too so I see no problem with it.

The saddest part of this story. The foundation was right. SCP-682 was right. They were trying to save us from the Entity which is SCP-2718. This causes you to possess your body after you die and puts you in an inconceivable state of pain forever. This feeds the Entity, and the only solution is killing all humans. Pietro may seem like a hero but he’s unintentionally the villain. We’re essentially better off dead.
