Oh Mary, I am so sorry!❤ Without knowing your own situation, my wish is for your comment to go GLOBAL - for all these kids (or rather, these very young "adults") to reconsider their hasty decision to go No-contact with their parents. Especially considering their brains (more particularly, the prefrontal cortex which is responsible for foreseeing potential harm & consequences) aren't fully developed until 25+. This is also the reason why statistics have shown that more flowers are delivered to the dead vs. the living. Further proving; regret is far more detrimental and a stronger emotion than appreciation and love in the present. I wish you well. xo

anyone who cheats on their wife or their husband, is a rare breed. Whatever shoes they've walked in. It takes lies, planning, eye to eye in bed contact saying i love you etc knowing your being cold and tricking the family unit, lack of empathy. One of our friends, cheated on his wife, we are in our early 40s now. When my friend saw this, he had to tell us and we had to tell his wife, because friends or family cheaters lack a certain heart and hes probably cheated before and not felt sorrow.

I was still angry and I still had some deep fear of her from past abuse. She died tragically when I was 21 and I never reconciled with her beforehand but she couldn't be anyone but who she was and I can have sympathy but I have more sympathy for the child inside she left.

So true. Those things happened then. Glad Judy Cooper came to and the children still had contact with their dad. My mother was encouraged to leave my dad by her own mother and she moved a long distance away but thankfully my dad was still in our lives. Maybe because he did the best he could under the circumstances. He certainly paid his dues. He remarried and had another family. Sad thing is my younger sister never ever ‘forgave’ him and I do know he died hoping to reconcile with her. She was/is as stubborn as a mule. My other sibs and myself were close to him and he enjoyed his last years on this earth even traveling overseas for the first time in his 70’s (twice) to be with us. MHDSRIP

Watching this programme gives me a slight hope but he has given up fighting to see her because she said she doesn’t want to see him he is broken and is making plans to move away and start again my heart is broken….

If he had reacted like the dad in this video would you have opened up to your father? I love my late dad intensely but I can understand your feelings…

@@wolfganghasenmaier8350 My father was the same, cold , distant, emotionally a total void. He never said he loved me, never hugged me, never smiled at me, never just chit-chatted with me, never played with me , never gave me gifts, never a card/letter or phonecall when he moved abroad (only ever from my mom ❤) , never any warmth from him ever! I'm sure that's why I don't miss him, ten years after his death, and why I'm super close with my mom (co-dependent).

So many men were raised not to show feelings... my own father is just like that. I haven't spoken with him for about 24 years and he wouldn't apologize for everything he did to hurt my Mom and me, that's what I know from growing up with him. I know that I need to get to terms with him before he dies but I am still not there.

This was a really great show. It is all about forgiveness and letting go of the past but of course both sides have to be willing to start over.

He said he sometimes thinks that he should have kept in touch with them. Ummmm....you think??? A divorce, even 40 years ago, does not keep a parent away from their children. What is not being said here??

I know that many men of his age of that era, thought they were doing the right thing to stay away, to "not get in the way" to "let them have their life". This created a legacy of misunderstanding and hurt. So glad to see this small experiment help mend some of these wounds.

@LoveMusic-pd5iz Absolutely ridiculous! I'm sure the lack of support and contribution was really helpful. Sounds like an excuse to me. 😤

Maybe the mother was impossible and toxic! You can never know the whole story. Women can be viscous and vindictive towards their ex’s! Let’s be honest!

Children should not victimized by parents who want to divorce or separated. Parents should allow their children freedom to visit each parent any time they want. Depriving them from the other parent is cruel and horrible . They should grow up knowing both parents love them. Telling children lie story about the other parent is terrible. The child is the victim not the mother or father in this type situation.

Many do leave as you stated. Many, I hope have the courage to have a vasectomy so as to prevent more pain. The same applies to women. Society plays a huge horrible part in pressuring children right away or eventually. Some more than not, just aren't meant to parent. Meanwhile, here are these brave ppl opening their hearts & risking a serious upset. Bless all concerned. Paz be with us all 🙏. "Isa"

I am very curious as to why Gerry cancelled her ticket back then and the reason why he couldn't attend her wedding. Very moving reunion between Barry and Nigel.

I think he feels so much shame. Now he's older he wants to try and be a good grandpa. I hope he doesn't let those kids down, too. His daughter couldn't be more accommodating to him. Fingers crossed it works well for them.
