In today's show, we meet two ladies who simply can't let go, can they be turned around? Are we able to get them to lighten their load, and make some cash from their stash?
Self-storage is big business and can help us create space in our over-crowded home. But, some have taken their storage hoarding too far, clinging on to things they never see or use, and it’s costing them a fortune

Bloody hell, these hosts are awful. Especially to Carol. Constantly putting her down, dismissing her interests and style and pushing things onto her that they deem more 'acceptable'. Not even going to touch the fact they keep characterising her as a 'silly gothic girl'. If they really wanted to help and support these people, they would have a therapy portion, and focus on curating collectables in their homes in a comfortable and attractive way so that they can be enjoyed rather than stored, not just saying 'chuck it all out, it's trash'. The whole thing comes across as the hosts believing they are 'better' and 'holier than thou'.

all they showed was half a dozen plushies on a bed and a packed shelf, I see no hoarding. The merch they tried to sell her looks so bad, I prefer the cute stuff she got already.

Yeah, but her collection or a big part of it was in storage. Paying quite a lot of money for storing a collection that is not worth much, money wise, and also not worth much emotionally, otherwise it would be displayed in her home, plus some empty boxes plus some boxes with Christmas ornaments, is absurd.

When you see the goth woman's apartment, you see the flaw in the whole show. Everything in her keep pile could be kept if she threw out some unneeded stuff at home. The host treats her like an idiot and yet never suggests that. Imagine if you were put down all day, pressured to throw out stuff you didn't want to and then went home to a bunch of useless crap because the show is called "storage hoarders."

I mean i'd be same w/ the goth girl too. If i ever have a chance to buy many plushies as i want i really would, besides, it's just like any other collections. Ever heard of comic book collectors? Or just literally those who collect many things?.. The plushies that she already got are adorable though

Goths come in all sorts of flavors. Some, even wear a bit of color. *Gasp*. So god damned shocking, it hurts my head. Who would of thunk that stereotypes cannot be applied without finding some sort of conflict in a human being. I'm Goth. I like dark things, and cute things. I'm also only human, and being that, a cornucopia of things people might think would be contradicting. As well as being an adult, who the fuck cares if she likes plushies? They aren't just for children. Neither are bright colors, cute things, video games, having fun, etc, etc.

I am really tired of people confusing 'hoarding' with 'collecting'. Hoarding is an irrational compulsion to keep 'everything'. Collecting is collecting. I had to put my life in storage when I moved abroad but Failure to get a visa to move my stuff abroad and subsequent personal problems in life meant that I had to keep paying for 12 years, a fortune. I recently managed to get it all out to find that a lot was stolen, some was badly damaged and half of the rest I gave to charity but what I kept is precious to me, its my roots and my past. I was told over and over and over to 'get rid of' my stuff by people who mainly lived with Ikea and cigarettes and alcohol, no soul so I said fuck you.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a female nesting/nursing instinct. She - her body - seems to want to take care of something. Baby, pet, anything will do. Spayed bitches (i.e. dogs) have been known to “nurse” objects like pups. Cats are living teddy bears :) .

Have had to donate stashes of stuffies over the course of my life. I'm old yet my parents still finds the odd toy that is added to a gift for me and when the occasion is over, that toy sits in a prime spot like my linen closet or towel cupboard. I open the door, look in to put away stuff, that stuffed toy makes my day brighter. They stay relatively clean and I am not looking at them all day everyday.

I can empathize with the 'every plush toy has a soul' and I need something just in case. I think it has to do an insecure upbringing.

Why go with a hoarder to a place where their promote and salute the idea of "investing wisely in pigs and other stuff"...it just ads to the idea of saving or collecting stuff????

@@beckykent435 I got my own house in Odessa, I don't even live there, barely moved, so renting a place in Austin, TX. It's temporary but like 3 different people have crap in my locker plus it's nice to be able to use a garage.

When I was a kid I knew this middle aged lady that would completely shave off her eyebrows and then pencil them back in. I think she was influenced by the stars of the "golden age"of Hollywood. She looked exactly like Richie Riche's mom. Very wealthy. She named her son "Royal"

Personally I'd want the money. But yes If you have an addictive hoarding problem youd probably see it as more valuable to keep safe it's a mental health problem attaching emotions to objects so you could offer them £1000 for 1 object but theyd see it as the most precious thing & try to keep it.
