As wonderful as these stories are, we need to celebrate the many mothers who stepped up when the fathers ditched their responsibilities.

I think it’s wrong when parents who adopt a child try to keep it a secret. That causes so much pain for a person to find out that they are adopted. Parents that adopt a child may be the best, but most people who have been adopted will on day want to know their biological parents. Keeping secrets of any sort will always surface it’s only a matter of time
@ingloriousbetch430220 күн бұрын
Its cruel and selfish to try and keep it a secret. Kids are always traumatized when they find out later in that they're adopted. It's more loving to let kids know from the beginning they were adopted and loved and wanted.

The poor guy. How awful. Abandoned by both parents. The mother should have kept in touch with him

It sounds like Peter's mother found herself in a very toxic relationship and no option but to leave him behind. The father sounds like the sort of person who would have put every obstacle in her path. She stopped writing after 3 years, and from what we hear about the father, it's very possible, he didn't pass on the letters.

She was 17 and found herself pursued by a creepy, gross 28 year old man who dumped her off in a parking lot very pregnant, then lost her baby immediately after her son was taken by the creepy, gross father and had no family support whatsoever.... Do you think she was actually going to cope well?
@lmc2375Ай бұрын
She never had to sign her consent over in giving up her son, even if she had nothing, or could do nothing. If her husband was always in the pub, it couldn't have gone well for the son under his father's care.

She was 17, alone and allegedly in a toxic abusive marriage with a man who was creepy and gross at 28, pursuing a teenager. Do you think she actually knew her rights?

These programs are great but they have unlimited financial backing which is great for these searchers, I on the other hand gave up because I could not afford to carry on. I did get as far as finding who my birth mother was but she was dead, any of her family I never got to find.

@carollara5047Ай бұрын
I agree! She seemed very bitter. You can see how reserved she is in her actions and attitude. I'm sure she wanted to cause him pain as a payback for her own childhood trauma from him. I don't believe what she saying about him because she seems like a damaged person who wants to damage her Dad.

I guess that Dutch father, which didn't surprise as someone raised by a narcissist, was extremely toxic. Too bad. However, when you've experienced a lot of trauma when young, that often happens.
