I agree with you. Tattoos are mostly fine- can be great! But it's a permanent body modification, and you should know what you're getting yourself into and what you can expect when you go through with it. Knowing what it's like for everyone else who has this big amount of tattoos (because it's pretty common knowledge that tattoos can prevent you from getting a job and such) and expecting different for yourself doesn't really sit well with me. I wouldn't personally judge them - it's their body, they have their own reasons for doing so, and it doesn't really affect me and is not my thing to decide, but I still believe you should know what you're doing when it comes to things like that. Take those steps responsibly and think logically. Like you seem to do (from what I can see from a youtube comment)!

I have been a working, licensed tattooer since the mid 1980's. Unless you're a tattooer or have an already established income, I advise people to not get what we call "Job Stopper" tattoos. Anything on the hands, face, visible neck, etc. Lets face it. Tattooing has come full circle and is fairly accepted now, but then again the hand, face, and visible neck tattoos are still taboo. I have refused to tattoo younger people due to the location of the tattoo they may want or the tattoo itself. No, it isn't my job to judge people because of their tattoos, but it is my job to be a responsible tattooer.

I live in Birmingham and I had a chance meeting with King ink in a pub. He spent all night calling me Lisa. Ok bloke, if a little intense. Their personality is interlinked with their life choices. The first tattoo might start off as individual expression or to enhance their appearance, but when it's done in this extreme it's purely an addiction and should be seen as one. When I personally see someone like this I think they suffer from severe low self-esteem. They're either not comfortable in their own appearance, so this is a way of hiding their insecurities rather than address them.. Sorta like a defence mechanics. Probably applies to why people would get plastic surgery. If you were comfortable with who you are and what you are, you wouldn't have to go to extremes to cover yourself which is basically hiding what you are

No one made you get tattooed, some tattoos are horrible and give off a bad impression. For instance if you have a big swastika on your forehead, might be some bad connotations.
