My heart broke cuz I have two daughters and I just could not imagine 💔.mad for your tats I loved them all! I love face tats and I only have one tat on my hand but I have a nose piercing lip piercing, industrial, helix,belly,eyebrow,dermal on my face n so many more piercings but either way I love all kinds of tats everywhere n it's someone's personal choice as well! I love the way it looks on people I would get more tats n I would get a face tat but I am so picky I mean really picky! My only tat is a cover job of a tat n I waited to get the one that was covered until I was 34! That's a long time to wait to get ur first tat anyway so the fact that I didn't like what I originally got was a huge warning sign to me to not get anymore tho I do want lots more!!! Lol but nothing I have looked at or thought up has stuck in my head or heart. Yours look awesome!

@terrielaplante6 жыл бұрын
The only thing I didn't like about this documentary is that when they're their normal selves, they ask people ''do you have change'', which clearly not everybody does and frankly a lot of people won't even stop to people asking something like that, because it involves money in the middle of the street. Then, they had their tattoos covered and they asked a totally different question ''do you where is...''. Of course more people are going to answer that question! You should've asked the same question.
@christinej.44046 жыл бұрын
Terry Fox True, I wouldn't stop even if they didn't have tattoos. Maybe they should've asked for some information or something, it would work better.
@thanrose6 жыл бұрын
It seems to be editing. The first go round with asking for change for a tenner was to show us people rejecting them, and the second time was to indicate some acceptance. It sounds as if they did ask both questions before and after the makeup though. Just wouldn't have been dramatic enough, maybe?
@AlexisBurman6 жыл бұрын
Also they were really aggressive about it. If someone was aggressively asking me for change on the street I would walk away, tattoos or no. From my experience, people have pretty dismissive attitudes towards all street interaction. The street experiment was kind of weird and didn’t provide a whole lot of insight because people generally aren’t terribly responsive to strangers in the street (especially ones aggressively asking them for change).

This isn't a controlled experiment though. Asking for directions has a completely different impression on a stranger than asking someone for change. If someone asked me for change on the street, that involves taking out your wallet, and some muggers use that tactic to see how much money you have in your wallet to decide if they're going to rob you or not. I'd most likely tell them no regardless of what they look like. But asking for directions is such a simple and safe request from a stranger. Definitely a biased "before and after" experiment.

old Irish man hit the nail on the head. of course I judged you at first, but I spoke to you and you seem nice, however, I wouldn't want you front of house in a hotel. SO, of course, treat ppl individually but it's in our nature to make initial judgements. You also have to accept some consequences for making a decision like having facial tattoos, like people not wanting you to represent their business. It does seem as though it is a radical way of attention seeking and a "look at me" kinda complex but thats unsubstanitatied and just my opinion.
@Keranu6 жыл бұрын
I really can't see how you can get a face tattoo without wanting attention or having a complex of some sort. Rather ridiculous to expect to be viewed the same as anyone else when the whole point is to look different than everyone else. I can definitely relate to getting tattoos to help with loss. After losing my Father last year, I got several commemorative tattoos, and they are the only thing/action that actually has helped the grieving process. This "experiment" is definitely flawed for many reasons... Asking people for directions is very different from asking them to pull out their wallet and give you change. not to sound prejudice or something but i don't know what this proves, the girl for example said: 1) her parents didn't like her very much. 2) got divorced because of her 3) expelled from school 4) shoplifting 5) causing havoc. this actually serves to support the stereotypes about people covered with tattoos. they didn't give an insight about the other 2 men and previous life, they might be great people... and the experiment isn't done fairly because: 1) as they asked 2 different question, the first being a more risky one since i'll have to get my wallet and money out, which i might not do regardless of who's the person in front of me and rather caring for the location where i do it. 2) they changed their dress style, which is a whole other experiment, with its own stereotypes.

Let me rephrase - how can people that have tattoo's be considered to be 'being themselves' when it's somewhen else's art scrawled all over them? To my mind in this example the expression of 'self' is entirely the artists - the tattooee becomes a canvas for someone else's creativity. No? As a creative professional I don't accept that the commisioner is expressing themselves through my talent. Quite the opposite - I feel that I'm expressing myself through the comissioners request.... Do you see (and agree with) the distinction?

From this words "Make me feel sick to look at myself, i can't stand", "The tattoos make feel who i am", "Tattoos make me feel empowered and i stand out from the crowd" i learned a lot from this video... they didn't love themselves the way they were which is a big trouble to any human being, they are trapped on that low self esteem and destructive self perception so they look around to fullfill their unaware emptyness with this and that which will never bring them peace and understanding. Of course if you don't like yourself you will always look around for other people eyes, their opinions, their this and that and you will feel down because they won't act or like the way they wanted. People with low self esteem will do the same as you do, they will look and make emotional assumptions based on their experience which no one can judge... the sad part is that both sides inner pain grows instead of having peace with themselves.

I know a tattoo was not something I wanted , after talking to my Father at the age 21. He was openminded and listen to me, and after I said my piece on the subject. He asked me what I was going to get. I thought, Oh this was easier than I thought it was going to be, with that I said," Pegasus." He replied, "Oh No don't get that, get a plum." A plum I thought, a plum! "Dad why a plum?" He said with a smile across his face, " So you can watch it turn into a prune." We laughed so hard after wards. I do not regret my choice way back then. But I do know I can see why folks do love them, to Honor loved one that have passed, to mark events in their lives, religion, loves, thoughts. It's is a way of expressing one self. As the world catches up and realize that this is an artform, some you will like others not so much. Just realize the person on the other side of the face, is that another person.

I myself decided to get tattoos at around age 20 or 21 and wanted to talk to my dad about it also. I come from New Zealand and from Maori decent so Tattooing is part of my culture and didn't think my dad would have any issue with it. When i asked him he told me a story, he use to have a tattoo on his arm which has now been removed of a British bulldog standing upright with a bowler hat and vest on. I always saw the tattoo growing up but never thought about where it came from. He told me him and my mum had got into an argument one night and he took off and ended up at the clubhouse of a biker gang in my home town. He got hammered drunk and ended up getting that tattoo done, he said it always reminded him of the argument so thats why he got it removed. His advice was make sure if you're going to get a tattoo it's for the right reason, pretty common advice I know but I loved the story.

@@louloulalee My only theory is that we haven't REALLY had any tattoo culture since before the christian era. Tattoos have of course always existed, but not broadly throughout the society. If you look at people on photos from 1900 and onwards. You might only find tattoos on sailors and people in really specific parts of society. But literally everybody else had no tattoos of any kind. Everything that was common amongst the "heathens" became banned and/or sacrilegious with christianity. In modern times, tattoos flourished mainly by people who have lived "rebellious" lifestyles. That coupled with prison inmates. And you can kind of understand the apprehension among the general population. These days tattoos are slowly being accepted again as normal. Most issues arises when people have more ink than skin. And tattooing the face haven't been any kind of norm since before the christian era. Most european cultures that had face tattoos were the Celts, and some Germanian tribes in the Roman era. The 1960's til today have seen the most rise in tattoos and that is no time at all for a society.

One of my colleagues has a 13 tattooed on his neck, he's a bodybuilder, it signifies something to him to do with some bodybuilder. One of the gangs we deal with's symbols is 13...they don't bat an eyelid at him. It's not the same meaning, I don't know how else to put this without people just being plain ignorant.

The woman is being sort of hostile to the people she is asking to make change... calling after them after they've already walked by isn't a very polite way to try to get help. More flies with honey.
