In other words, we were given not only guidance, but also room to fail; and we knew our parents were proud of us no matter where we ended up in life. This is such a no-brainer, and yet these guys' parents got it all wrong. Lots of people who were forced by their parents into university, and ultimately high-paying professional careers are woefully unfulfilled and unhappy people. Why would you intentionally raise your child to be an unhappy adult??? That phenomenon puzzles me. I would rather my children clean toilets for a living if it meant that they were fulfilled and happy people because of it.
