The analogy of human lifespan and delicacy in relation to the Sakura blossom was very poetic. It was heart touching and beautiful John. 💙

I think it is so pretty, seeing the delicate blossoms floating on the water 🌸 Also I noticed how beautiful they looked on the dark bark of the tree. So much beauty surrounds you, John. Add rain, and it makes for a lovely walk. Thank you for coming out, rain or shine to show us the beauty of Japan. ❤

We had heavy rain in Kanazawa in the past 24 hours but the blossom is still looking good this morning!

Lucky! Kanazawa is a few days behind Tokyo so it’s not yet full bloom. They’ll hang on!

Hello neighbor! Welcome to Tokyo! I bet - I remember when I first moved to Tokyo after years in the countryside. It was a lot of fun!! 🤩 it gets normal after. A few years though. Hahaha!

Thank you for the excellent video and narrative! I cannot agree more! I just returned from a 2 week trip to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Cherry trees are here, there and everywhere! There is really no need to rush to a crowded, renowned or top viewing spot to see them! What's more, in some quiet places, you can literally have the whole place to yourselves in total serenity! My heart is full after seeing the beautiful full blooms in Osaka and Kyoto in some small neighbourhood parks. Was not as lucky with Tokyo though. I also know better now that Really NOBODY can predict the weather. Had spent a more than huge amount of time to plan the dates of my visit and etc only to end up with an unusually late blooming. So I will say it all boils down to your luck, not the weather forecast! :P

Thanks for braving the weather to film this update. It looks like there’s still chance to see the blossoms this weekend 🙏🙏🙏

My husband and I were there for two weeks and returned to the states this past Thursday. We saw blossoms in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Himeji. Most of the trees were between 30%-60% bloom or not blooming yet. But they were gorgeous. I hope to return permanently one day.
Hi John! I returned from my first visit to Japan this Sunday. We were slightly too early to see many cherry blossoms in Tokyo, but managed to catch them in magnificent bloom at Himeji castle and a few days later in Kyoto and Osaka. Such a beautiful sight! I'm so grateful I got to experience it.
@onlyinjapanGO5 ай бұрын
Aw, I’m sorry to hear about that but so glad you caught them in Himeji! I hitchhiked the whole country in 2017 intending to follow the blossoms. It didn’t work 😂 because nature doesn’t work like that. Learned the hard way but there was a lot of food and adventure other than that and eventually caught them 😉 so glad you did too.

I would be so stressed trying to time the Sakura season. I came for the first time this winter and really enjoyed it. The cold did get a little annoying but the crowds weren't too bad
@onlyinjapanGO5 ай бұрын
The big positive is smaller crowds in the off season. It’s already getting crazy out there! Longer days are nice. It’s very hard to time it right. I think next year will be normal again.

Hello John, how are you and your family, I hope everything is fine with them, they enjoy spring as well as some people in Lithuania. In my city the cherry blossoms haven't bloomed yet, but in some cities they already have, especially in one of the big cities, the first cherry blossoms have bloomed, in Vilnius. In my city, you can already see the buds, they didn't start to bloom because there were some cold days, until the warm weather started, the buds didn't appear, but as soon as the sun shone, the weather warmed up, they are probably late sakura, because due to weather changes, they were not able to bloom in time. glad to know you had a chance to see them,also the temperature was soo hot,it must have been 27° c here in my city,so yeah it was something to take it in the heat😅

Who cleans up that mess of blossoms in the inner streets, all over cars, sidewalks, sewers, everything. Believe it or not there are cherry trees in The Bronx, NYC. On my block it is one messy business, noboby parks their cars around them, they are sticky suckers and mess with the windshield.
@onlyinjapanGO5 ай бұрын
They get swept away, Tokyo has street cleaner trucks that go by every night. In the countryside, armies of old ladies sweep up at 5am. Mess fine by sunrise! 🌅 Mother Nature takes care of them too. Down the gutter and drain, to the sea for the fish.
@TRUMPmyOSHI5 ай бұрын
Yes, we do have them as well (NYC)! Unlike Japan, ours have multiple layers of petals. Still cute and beautiful though! 😆

HIROSAKI, AOMORI. It should still be going on, the festival. Then Hakodate, Hokkaido after that. Also mountains will have them, at elevation over 1000m high.
