Mine is the elusive grasshopper. Thought I had caught the small green culprit but the chewed leaves continues and I finally saw the large yellow one. This one is on my hit list. Snails, slugs, mealy bugs, scales etc are there to be caught. But this grasshopper hops and flies. Can only wait for it to eat my poor plants to catch it.

Hi Sean, great video. Knowing that I’m not the only one who have issues with alocasias and begonias.... for the begonias i think i have found the mystery : i put water in a big saucer and let the plant take what she needs; after a time i put the extra water away. Since a start doing this everything is ok now. I find that they like plastic pots than terracotta pots, it keep the humidity better. But for alocasias i’still looking what they need. I think it depends where you live: light, humidity....the most important it’s trying again... thanks again for all your videos, always a great moments. 🌸🌼🌺

This is great advice. Whenever my plants have died, I've cut them back all the way to the ground/pot and they've come back. I remember a few years ago I had a beautiful snowball hydrangea that got eaten by grubs. I did everything I could to save the main plant but it got eaten from the inside out and the foliage/ main branches were starting to die. As a last-ditch effort, I cut off a little runner from the plant that had only 1 root and planted it in the ground to see what would happen. I'm so glad I did because the cutting survived and is now big enough to hopefully bloom this year.

When I lived in Florida, we grew our houseplants outside under the palm trees and they were beautiful. Friends would give me their dying plants and I was always nursing them back to health. I now live in Pennsylvania and have the hardest time keeping plants alive, especially during the winter but I'm slowly learning!! I have transplanted most of my plants to your potting mix and they seem to be doing better. Maidenhair ferns are my nemesis... I love them soooo much but just can't get them to live for me!!
