Hello! I just want thank you for another very informative, unpretentious video. It is always refreshing and genuinely enjoyable to watch and learn from you. I do the same thing as you do about recycling my water and i sometimes water or fertilize a plant while holding it up above another so it can drip all its excess to the plant beneath. I am more careful about the bottom plant only when fertilizing so i am not getting it on the leaves although I use only kelp and/or fish emulsion to fertilize in liquid form and my all time other favorite is earthworm castings which are absolutely magic to the plants! By the way, I know a Botanist whose Master's degree focused on orchid growing and she said they used to use bananas in the lab to grow orchids from seed(?). That was in Singapore. In the Philippines, they also throw a banana or its peel into the crown of the staghorn fern. Bananas and their wonders! Thank you again! looking forward to more videos from you!

Hello! I can't seem to find much information on this. Do you know if Phosphorus truly encourages verigation in verigated philodendrons? I have heard the higher the nitrogen the greener the leaves will be. What are your thoughts? It makes sense however I don't want to experiment and hurt my plants without being sure. I currently use holy mackerel for all my plants. Should I try a different fert for my verigated plants? Thanks!
@onlyplants Жыл бұрын
I’ve not heard of any studies supporting phosphorus encouraging variegation… some say high nitrogen can encourage chlorophyll which is the green in leaves. This is why professionals tend to use balanced fertilizer on variegated plants than high nitrogen ones. The best way to promote variegation, is still to start with good genetics. And good light would be the next factor.

I use a N P K 20 20 20+Te ( Peters Allrounder ) An extremely low EC-value and 60% NPK allow for high nutrient levels without salt stress, which is particularly beneficial for plants from tropical regions, as it allows for high concentrations. Most Philodendron are fertilized at 600 - 1200 microsiemens in the growth phase of all 3 days. I use mineral soil for cacti because it dries out quickly and stores little water. Can you also make a statement about the microsiemens values you feed your plants with? I think that would be something that many others here are interested in. Thanks for your videos. I have learned a lot from you in a short time

Dari yg baru ditonton hmpir Sama dgn yg biasa saya pakai: GrowMore, Osmocote, B1 (Saya selalu pakai ini tiap baru beli tanaman baru atau baru re-potting), Neem oil, Dan satu lagi lupa namanya, saya pakai Furadan jg. Saya pengguna pupuk organik yg saya buat sendiri Dari limbah RT (kulit buah, or potongan sayur), Dan saya sdh pakai ini Dari awal saya punya tanaman & saya terusin sampai sekarang... It works well for me 😀 (klo liat Dari tanamannya yaa yg so far tumbuh daun baru terus, tunas baru Dan makin membesar, Dan sepengelihatan saya sih sehat yaa). Agak bau memang, tapi makin kesini sdh bisa buat trik biar hasil pupuk cair organiknya nga terlalu bau. Air beras juga pakai.....malah air hujan tanaman saya nga kena air hujan 😂 (air cucian beras or air biasa). Tanya: Pernah ada pengalaman menggunakan fish emulsion fertilizer? Ps: Baru nonton yg video soil lengkap dgn bagan tanaman osmosis, transpirasi, gutasi .... Keren sih ini info Metannya (agak Salah urutan nontonnya yaa 😁) Sharingnya berguna & informatif buat saya. If it says “organic fertilizer”, does it always mean it’s natural? And why didn’t you talk about the plant serum which is soooo happening in Indonesia?😅
@onlyplants3 жыл бұрын
This depends on your definition of organic. I follow the US FDA definition of organic. But in Indonesia organic refers to anything natural. I don’t believe in the plant hormone as there is no scientific evidence for it. i will believe in it if manufacturer have released a double blind and fair study thats peer reviewed by scientists . So far super drive and B1 have been proven to be placebo.
