Chrysothemis pulcella (Copper Leaf, Sunset Bells) Care Tips and Propagation - WITH UPDATES!

The Chrysothemis pulchella is secretly my favorite houseplant (and landscaping plant) for many years. They sport gorgeous dark silver/copper foliage and are quite generous about sporting cheerful flowers. They are also one of the easiest houseplant to care for in any conditions, whether indoors or outdoors. In this episode I share the full care tip, and propagate a tiny plant right in front of your eyes with months of updates.

You should do a fun video where you suggest types of pot designs that goes well with different plants! Basically an aesthetics type of video content haha I’ve been into pots lately and buying random things from thrift shops like bowls and turning them into pots! They really make the plants soo much more exciting and enjoyable to take care of

Hi Sean. When I propagate my cane begonias I will often keep the large leaves, however, I will cut half the leaf off. I find this works well and helps prevent wilting.

Thank you for the video! I am glad that someone appreciates this cool plant! It's a whole colour palette on it's own, with some glitter. In my experience, it likes to grow in the shade of larger plants and finds its way to other plant pots. Some people get fricked out by this plant for some reason.

I actually prefer it as a houseplant because of the vibrant colors of the plant leaves. Those copper leaves are breath taking. It seems as though the plant care would be like a philodendron......easy! I have very much coppery, peachy tones in my interior design. That plant would be so beautiful to coordinate with what I have in my great room. I just bought an Easter cactus in orange and a Prince orange philodendron as well. Your plant would be a nice addition :))

Didn’t I see this plant in John and Yoon’s collection? Was wondering what it was and thought the plant was so attractive and the flower color so beautiful. What is the ultimate height of the plant and does it self branch?

I did not notice it there haha but I had this plant for 3 years now. They did not self branch for me and required pruning. I have not seen it past knee height.

Im on dilemma, which one I should get philodendron fibraecataphyllum or philodendron dragon narrow form? they're has mature leaf and has same price 20$AUD PS I'm only getting one 😓

I would ho with the dragon. Unless you have the right conditions to grow the fibraecataphyllum to its mature form, which not many people can accomplish.
