When I was at basic training for the US Army, another guy in my company (but a different platoon) looked just like me. It was partly because we all had freshly shaved heads: with our hair grown out, we would look a bit more different as I'm blond and he had dark hair, but we looked so much alike as we both saw each other for the first time we both did a double-take. Even his gait looked similar to mine.

I met my Sokkuri-san when I was young. Me and my family were sitting next to her at the beach. Her name was "Audrey". When we went back in the car to go back home, I told my older brother that I was "Audrey" and I was not his sister. He was so afraid that he start crying. She really was my Sokkuri-san 😅
Your videos are an amazing resource for Japanese language learners. Please keep making these! Thank you

My dad's doppelganger used to live exactly in my neighborhood. I don't even know how that was possible... I remember I called him once on the street when I was going to school, and he literally just looked at me confusedly and walked away.. And then when I came back I asked why he didn't wave back, and my mom said "Oh, no, maybe it's not dad. It's that guy who looks like him" and she told me she also made this mistake when they were dating or something XD And I thought "Looks like him? He's almost identical!"
Hitoki, what do you think about making a podcast series? I know that it's a lot of work but I constantly listen to podcasts in the languages I'm learning when I'm working out or cycling, and podcasts for japanese learners are very... mediocre. And I love your videos exactly because you speak very clearly and talk about a lot of entertaining topics, so a podcast would help me out a lot! Thanks!! (Btw if you guys have a good japanese podcast recommendation I'd love it)
Recently watched a documentary on this topic where they compared doppelgangers and things got weiiiiird. This content got deep. Excellent :D Thanks, really useful stuff as always

When I lived at my parent's house after graduating high school I owned a beige Toyota Camry hatchback from 1984. I had a Sokkuri who drove a similar colour Toyota [but it was Corolla] from probably the 80's as well. EVERYONE would tell me that they saw me somewhere and waved or followed a bit to say hi and I was "ignoring" them... Once I even drove past her going the opposite way. But I finally moved away for Uni and never met her >.

Omg I had that nightmare once when I was about 9 years old in which there were hundred versions of my mother and I couldn't find the real one They were very very similar only small details such as a small difference in nail shape or a freckle more or less than in reality so I couldn't find her anymore and woke up scared This sounds so much like this manga
Me and my hubby have a system in place where we'll ask each other a question only the REAL us would know -- juuust in case of doppelgängers (or そっくりさん!). 😁😁
