Great instructions & tips! However there is something I need to mention... Reynolds Freezer paper is not wax coated (as wax would leave a nasty residue on the fabric) but is plastic coated which leaves no residue, it's on the box. Thanks again for all you do to help us quilters!

Thank you so very much for all your wonderful suggestions about what tools and products to use for FPP. I have done FPP before but it has been a few years ago. I have subscribed to your wonderful KZbin channel.

I don't have a Viking, but I already have the rest of the tools (not the 18-inch ruler though). Love the idea of using a heavy ceramic cup for the Clover Mini Iron. Will you be doing a video showing how to make a particular block pattern or showing us an example of a quilt you made using paper-pieced blocks?
@QuiltingWithNancy8 жыл бұрын
Yes, we've broken down the steps of paper piecing into the next three videos. The design demonstrated is featured in the quilt hanging up in the back.

Great video step by step, in process of attempting my first paper piecing project. I love quilting and I would like to try paper piecing because i like my project to be nice and neat. Not perfect.

I really appreciate how well you plan out your videos. Everything is there where and when it needs to be, and transitions are smooth. Your explanations are short and informative. I have a question about the freezer paper. I'm wondering if the iron would melt the wax. Must be you have to be very careful when pressing the new seams? I'm really enjoying all these refresher lessons. Must be I'm a professional student?
@QuiltingWithNancy8 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you touch the iron to the wax side of the freezer paper it will melt the wax, but it is a very fine layer of wax and won't hurt your iron, can be wiped right off. Also, in using your little iron, you probably won't touch it - you want to pretty mostly on the seams - hope this helps.

Thank you for your clear complete instructions! I was not able to wrap my head around the proper paper-piecing process until I watched your tutorials, and I have been struggling for a long while :) Is it not possible to use the paper-piecing quilting method with curves in parts of tge design?
@QuiltingWithNancy7 жыл бұрын
It doesn't work for curves.. There are some designers that design with such precision and multiple pieces that they can get the "look" of a curve. When I am doing a block such as a New York Beauty, which we'll show show in future episodes, I paper piece the points and curve piece the curve. It's not hard, you will be able to do it when you see the video

Lovely - I look forward to enjoying Very Much your new video which will explain how you can accomplish that, as I most certainly cannot wrap what is left of my brain around figuring it out by myself :)

Now I want to try this. Where does one find the designs to print? Thank you for your contributions. You're a tutorial Rock Star!!

Hello - the patterns for the individual lessons or the entire book are available out our website - www.onpoint-tv.com Thank you for watching!!

Hi. The first time I did paper piecing, our teacher stamped the design onto lightweight interfacing, so there was no ripping off paper at the end and not a lot of bulk added. I cannot find the stamps now, but I suppose the design could be traced onto the interfacing?
@QuiltingWithNancy7 жыл бұрын
Yes, you could draw the designs onto the interfacing if you wish or even try cutting the interfacing into a 8 ½ x 11 piece and run it though your copier?

Just wondering, Is the center of the quilt behind you done with paper piecing as well?

Hi Debra, the center of that quilt is done with applique. The whole pattern is available on our website www.onpoint-tv.com - thanks for watching and sharing the videos - Nancy

Would you please tell me where I can purchase the Fiskars 28mm rotary cutter that has the ergonomic handle? I have researched everywhere I can think of and can't find it.
@QuiltingWithNancy7 жыл бұрын
The cutter I recommended is the Olfa 28mm - it is no longer being made, I wish it was. I wrote to Olfa, you should too 😄
