I see "Class 1" on the side of the pumper, and have seen that on others. Can anyone explain what that means?

ISO rating. Class 1 is the highest rating.

Class 1 means that departments that have that for there dept have met certain guide lines and training a dept.can apply for that but they have to meat certain guide lines

I don’t know much about fighting fires, but couldn’t they get the military involved somehow to help these first responders fight these fires? Get more fire fighting (military?) aircrafts and just blanket the areas with nonstop fire retardant? I don’t know but I feel like more could be done?
