Yes very sad. I had a house fire when I wasn't home and one of the little dogs didn't survive. The others went out through the garage and went into the backyard but one of them stayed in and didn't make it.

I work for an animal er and we worked with firefighters around our area to show them how to help animals involved in fires. It was honestly a great experience and the firefighters asked so many questions, i have no doubt they feel more confident about what to do.

It was an engulfed fire, and he probably couldn't reach them. He's obviously very upset at the end of the video but everyone out here being so judgemental about a guy who just lost his house and one of his dogs. Smh the lack of empathy

There have been people who went back into a burning building to find a pet and died. Not a good idea. Also, some animals hide during a fire so it's not always easy to find them.

@linda Yearsley No, the little one didn't die because the cameraman did nothing. It died because of its size and most likely being a higher strung breed (beagle) and exposure to carbon monoxide and toxic gases. It was dead already when the firefighter brought it out. The larger dog was breathing, so it got oxygen first. You weren't there so blaming someone when you don't know the circumstances is foolish and thoughtless. Perhaps it was your fault for not being there. Maybe you could have saved it. Ridiculous!

It's heartbreaking when a fire starts owners forget about their dogs or cats like it's their second or last priority let me just tell you alm this. Not everyone is cut out to help in high adrenaline situations. If it were me trying to get oxygen on those dogs my hands would be shaking my heart would be racing I'd be a shrieking mess. Would you want me to save your dogs life? Fumbling with zipper and valves and wasting time cause I have no idea what I'm doing with unsteady hands? Didnt think so. There are more people with my reactions than otherwise. And even more people who refuse to believe theyd freeze in a situation like that but truth is you wont know until your faced with it.
