I just want to say much much love and respect to you Queen for this very uplifting interview I just want you to know that I’m totally agreeing with everything that you talk about on this interview because as a person who really love my country I do as much as I can do with my foundation...but i think that our country could be much much better if all the Big corporations they would give their contribution towards community development for the inner-city youth Its shame on the government of Jamaica because when you’ve so much kids that graduated from school with any where from 10 to 15 subject with no means of employment that’s just not right the government need to implement more places of employment for the youth of Jamaica...because they are doing everything else but not doing enough to empower and elevate the younger generation so I’m a very concern citizen of this country and I’m calling out to the government of Jamaica to stop fucking around and start putting the young people of Jamaica first by including them in the budget to build facilities employment

@@glenoneill3950, I think her perspective is not about the fact of talking about slavery per se; but it is much about the reality of the stigma it has caused whether unconsciously or consciously in the mindset of the individual or any culture that has been victimized by its atrocities. And it is not about dwelling on the past. This world, unfortunately, is governed by the idea of “white supremacy”; the concept is vivid in every sphere of society, and, it would take self to push forward to thrive amidst of the shitstem, but such pushing and trying would bring along with it, the hassles that you have to fight against a system that doesn’t want you to thrive in the first place, just because it believes that the people of color or the underprivileged doesn´t deserve to succeed, but are the object of servitude, scorn, ridicule, and discrimination. The history of slavery is fuel to most, if not all, of the violence, we would see amongst the youth of today if we don’t guide them and let them understand why they probably chose a certain lifestyle, the low self-esteem would continue. Yes, some of us would look above that and aspire to succeed in life, but most of the masses don’t move on that perspective, and they would need someone, a voice, a leader to guide them toward that path. I personally think the vision of Queen Ifrica is such toward the youths in her community. Whenever I hear her talk, or in her lyrics, that’s her concern. Yes, she is human, and like all the rest of us not flawless, but you would always need in a community that guiding voice toward consciousness that empowers the desire to walk and move on a transparent levity, to set yourself free of the stupor of a system that testifies to you daily you won’t make it because of your color, you’re from the ghetto. Malcolm represented that voice in a way, so was M. Luther King, Garvey, Lumumba…etc. Buju, Jahmason, Queen Omega, Empress Sativa, Lutan fyah, and Reemah just to name a few of the conscious lyricist who represents such voices in your community. The government, the police, the military, some representations of the clergy, and the politicians are not that voice. They are but for money, power, control, crave and greed. Recall, every year the Jewish community celebrates the “Holocaust” and I’m pretty sure that they have profited from such worldwide, more than just the fact that they are dwelling on the events it brought. The "Black Holocaust", of which none wants to echo, is the history of the “Transatlantic Marketing” they did to Africans. And that’s only a part of it since the marketing goes way back with the Arab Trading and any other trading of the people of color against their will, that you have read about, listen to from your grandparents, or whatever source. Whenever a colored or an indigenous person or a group speaks on the matter it is viewed often as “living in the past”, but remember there is a feeling, a sentiment, there is a leftover hurting from such practices that were perpetrated upon our forefathers. And as a matter of fact, the original perpetrators, and their offspring, till this day have not had the decency, the remorse to apologize to us of the diaspora publicly for their forefather’s atrocities, yet today they are reaping from the spoils and gains its legacy in every form that you can think of and attest.

Deuteronomy 28:63-68 [63]And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it. [64]And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. [65]And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: [66]And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life: [67]In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. [68]And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

I felt ashamed to hear my own Jamaican people said they are not going back to Jamaica not because they have a dislike for Jamaica's no it's because they're not coming there to lose their lives anymore, they want to buy land somewhere else and forget about yard, because yardies are killing one another without much or reason. It hurtful and dis hardening I myself refrain from doing so either. What is this that drives our people to do these things, I know the sister laid out a splatter of the causes, and the junctions that led them there, we know the evolution of the symptoms and the process of their influence so we should be finding solutions that matters and I hope we're listening I hope the children are listening, I wonder what and how the socalled government feels about this, they too need a rude awakening the time is now. One love. Velvet

So hearing this beautiful sister speak these things actually explains to me how a peaceful community became so violent. And not just Greenwich Town but most of the communities , Tivoli, Denham Town, Rema, Maxfield and other Area’s. Area’s with great leaders who were not invested in but set up to fight each other for the benefit of politicians. We really do need to break free and fix up.

Read the William "Willie Lynch" Lynch letter and the making of a Slave. Similar to what the Queen is saying, this British WI plantation owner was requested in the USA to 'break' slaves. He did some horrible things and let the women and children watch. The women (some) would the 'turn' their male children into 'softers' by telling them they will have the same thing happen to them as what happened to their dad. So the kids listened and some of the mature men got scared 😱. They would also have the strongest male become a village 'ram' and breed off all the women despite their (un)willingness, just to ketch the breed of strong men. Real troubled times. Smh. However, a new level has been unlocked 🔓 with this modern slavery. Ask Bob.

Guyanese 🇬🇾writer, Ivan van Sertima, claimed in one of his books that Africans came to the ancient Americas before Columbus. But can we confirm that? Hmmmm. Queen has just reminded me to do this research again to completion, of where I feel comfortable with the idea that Africans made to way to the Americas eons after the great human migration, and before Columbus. Interesting

Based on Jamaican history, how Nanny of the Maroons got to Jamaica is unknown, whether she was enslaved or free. However, from oral history Nanny was from the Ashanti tribe of Ghana, which is matrilineal. Women were leaders of this tribe and honed their fighting skills as leaders, that's where Nanny's cunningness and craftiness came from to overcome the British slave masters. Her skills had nothing to do with being rich and being free...she was just a fierce warrior women. Personal responsibility has to be the order of the day. After years of being out of slavery, you can no longer use that as an excuse. Black people need to look into themselves and change their bad behavior.

Well in regards to good behaviour, Jamaica has a Guinness World Record for having the most churches in the world!! Yet despite this worship and devotion, it hasn't been enough to protect the ppl from the adverse forces in the environment which originated from slavery and are still there, so that's what her point is more awareness and more unity is needed to help change things on a macro level, alongside personal responsibility which is a micro level
