I really just did not need this. Now I have to have it. Thanks Jerry.

I quit Battlefront when they went the ultracast route...just don't like it, and the first/only batch I bought had significant mold lines. I switched to Peter Pig for 15mm, AB for 20mm. Nice metal figs with little or no clean up necessary, and you don't have to glue on any body parts :). I haven't tried any of the Ultracast PSC stuff yet; don't actually know if I will, tbh.

Nice, I have 20mm WW2 forces. Ready for new recruits.

Oh wow, 20mm is so good!

I make up toy soldier sets to give away and I use 20mm scale as that is the cheapest option and has the widest range of figures and kits. Playing with toy soldiers is not (necessarily) wargaming, it is however imaginative play which is essential for child development (grown ups prefer to call it experimentation and analysis, but the process between the ears is the same). To facilitate play realism is rather important so the ‘heroic’ style with enlarged heads and hands puts me off (they look like armies of children but I haven’t a suitable back story for that). For wargaming these figures, and the Valiant sets, would be fine but for toy soldiers they would require a lot of work to improve the realism. I may get a set and do a head-swap using heads from the PSC hard plastic German infantry (a bag of correctly scaled heads would be very handy to have).

Plastic figs in 1/72 are really prolific in a lot of companies. What game would work with this scale?
@thatone8463 жыл бұрын
Bolt Action and Battlegroup are good for this scale.

Psc is very good i use them alot. But some kits like the new marines are bad.

Maybe I just don't get the genre so to speak but they all look very stubby, squashed and unrealistic to me.

Something about making the SS playable and glorified just seems off, even for a Wargame 😬

Yeah Wehrmacht is already questionnable since they were nazis, but the SS themselves uh...
@connorsteffey58983 жыл бұрын
Glorified in what way? It's historical figures representing a group of soldiers in history nothing more.
@hammerlord_online3 жыл бұрын
You need to get some help if you don't comprehend that simulating the tactics and weaponry of historical forces in miniature wargaming doesn't automatically infer support for the ideologies or actions of said historical force. Indeed, the real-life SS were an organisation guilty of multiple horrific atrocities, however, by that measure you would need to also ban Romans, Vikings, Crusaders, Mongols, WW2 Japanese, Samurai, WW2 Russians, Teutonic Knights, Persians, Greeks, Chinese, etc, etc....might as well just ban history eh?
@felixflitou3 жыл бұрын
@@hammerlord_online you forgot about US soldiers from most eras, but if you don't see the difference between the particular atrocities of SS organized death industry and war crimes in general, then you might be the one that need some help. Yes every army committed war crimes, yet SS had a much more specific agenda, these atrocities are the very reasons of their existence.
@hammerlord_online3 жыл бұрын
@@felixflitou I don't think so chump, your ignorance of history is laid bare. Many of those names I listed, ran well ordered campaigns of genocide, inclusive of of use of death squads focusing on specific cultures and ethnicities, at various times in their history.
