Who's going to join me and jump in on the Arnhem Heroes Kickstarter? I can't wait to paint some more Airborne!

They look fabulous, be on this like jam on bread! I love the Arnhem campaign and really looking forward to them. You can see he has referenced period photos the mortar and Bren teams for sure. The extra bits, sandbags for doors and windows, the fence possibly is a low fence, but I think stood on the narrow edge for a paling fence perhaps. Cheers Matt

They really have done a lot of research on this. I find myself constantly looking at them. They each tell a story which is so cool! Ah now that's a great point but I've since been told they're part of the M113 set 🫣 opps!

Excellent figures & review, sold on them already. I think the 'fence' sections are actually duckboards for stability on soft wet earth, & a throwback to what was a WW1 practice, hence them being a little too short for a fence. Just my two cents though:-)

You'll be able to get these from the first Kickstarter again in the new Kickstarter on the 4th of May 😄 it turns out those extra bits are from the M113 stowage set for NAM 😉 good thinking though, I could use them for that!!

My pleasure mate, it will be a great Kickstarter 🙌

The "Sterling" SMG is not a Sterling but a Prachet, it is amazing that they included this very rare weapon on the kickstarter. These are excellent figures and thanks for highlighting this kickstarter!

Ah, thanks for the information and highlight that fact! I did read up on the Patchett SMG and even in the article they get referring to it as the Sterling so I just went with it lol. My mistake haha. Thanks for your kind words too :D

Before I start watching this video, let me just say that I'm already one of the followers of this Kickstarter. For a long time I wanted to start a British paratroopers army for a Market Garden campaign. Now here it is, sculpted by the talented Paul Hicks.

Got to be some of the best paratrooper miniatures I’ve seen. Personally I’m having the lot

Yes, they do look very fine, and I have gone for some accordingly. But am not sure that they are better than Offensive Miniature’s paras, which are also superb and cheaper.
@paintingpanzers Жыл бұрын
Thats great 👍 they're even better in person. I really want to try Offensive Miniatures ... perhaps one day soon 😉

I'll be grabbing these hopefully for Polish airborne. Not exactly correct. But correct enough. The fences with the sandbags look like they maybe go across the bags as bracing?
@paintingpanzers Жыл бұрын
I think they'll work fine. Just cut off the badge on the beret and greenstuff something similar to the Polish version and bosh, you have some Poles 😁 everything else is the same 🥳 I've since been informed that the sandbags and fences are from Empress Miniatures Vietnam set for the M113 transport 😅 no idea why it was sent 🤣
@jamesvalentine2845 Жыл бұрын
@@paintingpanzers huh...weird. still always useful to have sandbags. Could make a little trench section for the mortar team. Some foam, push the bags in, glue the fence over. Boom!
@paintingpanzers Жыл бұрын
@jamesvalentine2845 ah nice idea, I like your style!! I had no idea what I was going to do with them but you've given me something to work on now 😉

He isnt carrying a Stirling smg. He is carrying a Patchett machine carbine Mk1.
@paintingpanzers Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the clarification, I understand it comes from the same family and was the first of its model. I'll do better research next time 😄

Oh nice, thanks for that buddy! What that have been used in WW2 too?

Very nice sculpts, however no evidence of Patchetts(not Sterling SMG) at Arnhem that ones a myth.
@paintingpanzers Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the information on that one mate 🙌 I know some Patchetts were undergoing trials around this period, so perhaps thats why they went with this special model? Whatever the case, I love it 🤣
