Thank you so much for this guide. I always screenshot your turn by turn directions, just in case. My AllTrails map was glitching yesterday and the trail out of Kelly Camp was a little overgrown and confusing. Popped open your turn by turn and there was the landmark I needed!! Saved me from getting lost.🙏 The sign and the cairns on the ridgline between the two peaks are gone now.

Ah that's great, glad it's come in handy. And the website guides have screenshots too, so you can just print them to PDF and save them on your phone. Glad you got to get up there, hoping to revisit the hike this fall. 👍👍👍

I can't wait to hit the Cucamonga Wilderness. I have done several San Gabriel Mountain peaks, but none in the Cucamonga area! As usual, the video is very detailed, helpful, and inspiring!

Thank you so much for the videos you post...complete with turn by turn directions! Summit Baldy twice in last two weeks and planning an overnight trip either to Three T's or to the area you just showed on Ontario, which will include a summit to Cucamonga. Fantastic job taking some of the unknown out of future hikes. Keep up the great work.

I heard that Ontario does not have mountains just big hills and rock's. But thank you very much 😊⛰️. I also live in Ontario.

I did not hike to Kelly, but went from the notch to Bighorn. There really is no real trail to Bighorn I could find. I ended up eventually finding on that was not on maps. I needed alltrails to find Bighorn Peak after much trial and error.

It's a pretty busy trail but there are def places that you can go off-trail and find a spot - especially on the southern part of the loop

I am thinking of doing the hike this week. There's been a lot of snow, but I heard this climb follows a fairly mellow ridgeline and is relatively safe that way. Is it hard to find the way to Ontario Peak if snow has covered the trail, or is it mainly intuitive? I have crampons and ice axe if needed, and I'll use a GPS, waypoints, etc.

There's one section after Icehouse Saddle that's pretty narrow. I haven't been up there in a few weeks but I'd probably give it a try and if it looks sketchy, just turn around.

+C Loo Were the directions on my blog confusing, or you just got lost? hikingguy.com/hiking-trails/ontario-peak-hike-bighorn-peak-hike/
@cloo75259 жыл бұрын
+HikingGuy.com well, i got lost because there were so many false trails heading to ontario peak. next time I go, I should take a photo of the parts where it's confusing to hikers. It's a good video. When I got up to the summit, I can't even tell if this was the summit or not LOL
@Hikingguy9 жыл бұрын
+C Loo ha yea, that part on the ridge seems to go on forever... check out my blog post (above) - lots of pictures, including the summit, which is very unique... but yea, I had the same problem!
