Sark didn’t feel the urgency and need to because he and QE were hitting their shot plays early, and our guys were straight out-running theirs. It’s funny how a good thing can almost be your demise though. ASU had to establish the run with Skatt because that’s really all they had. Leavitts a good, young QB but he wasn’t going to beat the Longhorn defense by himself, especially with no real outside weapons.

This was Sark’s worst game coaching wise this year. The play calls in the 2nd half minus a handful were mind boggling. The clock management in the last 6 mins of regulation was awful. Calling deep throws down the field when we should be running clock? Running wisner with 30 secs left? The 4th and 2 play pass to Golden was a overly risky call for 2 yards. Not calling Helms’ number until 3 mins left in regulation? Quinn really did save this game for us. Special teams I agree with all the guys. What killed me is we called punt safe and they still successfully executed a fake punt. We can’t just go through the motions. Most of the big plays ASU plays were a product of a lack of focus or losing their responsibility even when perfect plays were called by PK. Our rushing attacked struggled because of the lack of variety. They had outside zone locked down and they beat our OL when we had pull movement. I would have liked to have seen more power or even more inside zone. That’s on Sark. Defensively PK called a solid game. I would have liked to see Collin play a little more. He was the only DE that had enough speed to run with Leavitt. Sorrell barely missed a couple plays because of his lack of speed and agility against an athletic QB. I think the key to the OSU will be the Jaedae/Smith matchup. OSU doesn’t play well if Smith is contained. I want to see more power right rushes if cam is back and more creativity installed with our running plays. OSU will shutdown our zone runs as well. We will be the underdog but not by much imo. Sark’s got to be better prep and in game next week period.

The problem is that tOSU front 7 is every bit as good as UGA, but tOSU safeties are studs are much better than UGA. The Texas O will have to play flawless game to score a lot of points. The Texas D will also need a flawless game, tOSU has much better receivers than ASU, and their running game is really good too. ASU had a balanced offense yesterday and gave the Texas D fits! While the tOSU QB isn’t as mobile as the ASU QB, he is mobile enough that he can extend plays and scramble to make something out of nothing. On paper at least tOSU has significantly better talent than Texas on most positions.

It's the same in the UFC " Don't rely on the judges to give you the W. There was some very bad play calls made in this game from the staff. The Defense was so tired this whole game cause they spent so much time on the field. ASU all year has been relying on how well they kept the offense on the field and they relied on how tired defenses would get. They did that to Texas because after the first half Texas play callers shat the bed. We got lucky. OSU will destroy us by 40 next game if we play that way against them. I also thing Atlanta is a place that has become our worse place to play lol

The constant negative on Sark is more than just critical - it is typical Texas complaining. Always whining about someone or something. The way you can tell is when it is generalized. Keep thing specific like a coach would as opposed to arm chair QB. Today you are doing a great job highlight what worked and what didn’t. Run into the punter was in a sense a good play - he was so early the ball went under - this is what I mean - it is like you read an article.

For me it’s 4 yrs of watching every Sark game at Texas as well as watching what other programs are doing and how they are winning. Sark, just like Quinn, just like the defense, can be as big of liability as they are asset. Usually the ups outnumber the downs but we are all creatures of habit. And when you have the chance to establish the run early against a very gettable opponent, you gotta do it. Instead hitting deep shots early leaves him chasing those all game and not focusing on pounding the rock north and south. The middle of that ASU defense was absolute food. And he chose not to eat.

Find the ball and pick it. There enough blame to go around, but biggest is this team needs to learn how to finish. The overwhelming sentiment from Longhorn nation is Bert Auburn is a bum and must be replaced next year. I recall for the first half of this year, Bert was as good a kicker as he was last year. His problems started after one game both the deep snapper and the holder were injured. You know how much the kicker is affected when the deep snapper is having issues and the holder is having problems getting the ball down and with the laces in the right position. One analyst said the second field goal where Bert hit the upright, was not his fault, but the fault of the holder. I would like to know 1: are the deep snapper and holder still injured and are being replaced by second teamers, 2: how many of Bert’s missed kicks are the result of bad snaps, and/or mishandled snaps by the holder?

Quinn was inconsistent. He made the throws when it mattered. We praise him today bc his best throws were his last throws in the game. If he throws that interception in overtime, we crucify him. But the lack of running game was definitely the number 1 problem bc it was bad from start to finish.
