In 2019 Nancy lost her brother Phillip and her father too, she was reportedly “devastated” by these losses. Then this past pandemic year changes your perspective about things. I believe it probably wasn’t any adverse feelings toward her former cast mates, they reunited in recent years prior and they seem genuinely fond of each other. She has earned success and doesn't have to sacrifice her family's convenience or her peace of mind for a paycheck. You learn with age, and especially the loss of the most important people in our lives, that life is too short to miss things with your kids or to even inconvenience your life unless you genuinely want to do something or need the money to survive, which she doesn't. She's not some kid who needs the job or recognition.

The reason why she did not appear and the 2001 reunions movie was because of scheduling conflicts with her hit show "the division." She also rejoined her castmates for the TV Land Awards special honor of the show in 2011, & she rejoined her castmates to appear in Kim Fields' lifetime Christmas movie, "you light up my christmas" in 2019, so I don't think she's completely moved on. I think she's got a family that she prioritises, like Lisa Whelchel said.

I say that you missed a few possible explanations that don't put these ladies into a "backstage drama" over a reunion. 1. Nancy's brother passed away on December 10, 2019. Considering that the filming takes place very close to the date of his death, and it's only been two years, could have had something to do with it. My mom passed away in 2003 and I still have days, especially around Christmas where I get depressed over how much I miss her. Isn't it possible that Nancy is still mourning and possibly depressed over her loss and didn't want to be there? 2. You said school starts in September and that her kids would have started then. Many schools across the US start in late August, if a child transfers to a new school in December, October, April or any month during the school season, they're going to start school within _that_ month. Kids who started off as home schooled can decide to attend a school after months into the school year. It's quite possible that one of those scenarios happened for them. 3. There's a pandemic. Nancy may have wanted to avoid crowds that she didn't just _have_ to be around. 4. Something more important in her life may have taken top priority. It happens. She has a husband and kids, so she just might be the type to put them first. Also, money doesn't control everyone to the point of talking a lot about it or dropping everything to get to it.

Exactly, there's no drama going on. Nancy has said many times over the years that she loved her character (Jo) from FOL, but she just doesn't want to play that role again and has specifically chosen to focus her career on movies, and other TV series (like The Division for example). She played the most popular character on FOL, and did it so well that she could have been type cast for life. I'm glad she was able to move on and play other roles and didn't end up being type cast like so many other actors have.

Exactly! Mindy has said the cast continues not to get paid appropriately for the syndicated reruns of the original show that still get played to this day. I think she said they don’t get paid at all which is lousy in terms of their contracts and not fair for them as grown women who really made a positive impact. …not cool. Contrast that to Jennifer Anistons Friends era who forced the network to pay them a million per episode. Must be a bit weird. I will always cherish Facts of Life. It’s like a pre Sex & The City. Nancy was on set for the Facts of Life from day 1 of season 2 - Series Finale and that’s all she owes. We are gracious that Lisa, Kim and Mindy still occasionally reunite. Whether money or whatever. Maybe her kids we’re having personal issues with schooling. Just because it’s December we don’t know what’s going on and maybe Lisa was covering but I’m sure if Nancy had the time or the studio was a block away she might ha f been more than happy. Let's break down facts. Of course, any actor is paid to be anywhere. An actor is paid to cut the ribbon at the opening of a car dealership. How do you know she turned down a significant paycheck? It could have been $100,000. But I doubt it. How much did the big stars receive to be there? Not sure, but I bet they were sort of doing it out of the goodness of their heart. They were doing it for fun. So maybe Nancy was offered $50,000. At the most. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was talk show scale either. Obviously, she's not acting in any significant roles? She was in six episodes of an Amazon series called PANIC this season. That may not be amazing, but she is a working actor. Also, when you move, your children often change schools. She lives here in Texas on a Ranch just out side of the Texas Hill Country Area not far from Houston TX and for the Record She has been at those little Reunions over the Years and her 3 Children are from High School age to Elementary School Age so Yes I Believe She may have had Other Commitments and she still Works not always in front of the Camera but behind it as well.

Nancy McKeon has never struck me as a drama queen. She does, however, strike me as a woman who never allowed Hollywood to mold her into their image. So yeah, I could totally see her choosing her family over making a quick buck for a "reunion" moment. I get it. The media types need something to talk about. Why dies qnybof this matter? These people are human just like us. They have ups and downs. Sometimes we have arguments with the ones we love, it happens! I think all these ladies were absolutely fabulous in the TV series. I miss it very much. It gave me an escape from my rough childhood, when it was airing on television in the 80s. Thank you for the wonderful memories, ladies!

A lot of this comes down to people having lives outside of Hollywood. I know high school reunions seem small in scale, but I have not been back to a single one, not 5 years, 10 years, 15, 20, or in this case, this year was 25. People talk, but I have a life and that is reality. To speculate why someone makes a guest appearance is speculative at best. We don't know and to think Lisa Whelchel knows is more speculative. Whelchel made it clear that all the women stay in touch with other in a US Weekly interview. So, that is about it and that is the facts of life.

I think everything about Nancy not being there has been pretty much answered by everyone else; so I will say this about her in-ear not working, I’m up on stage at my church a lot, granted as large as a church I go to, it’s not near as technical as Hollywood, but still it’s using the same type equipment. We’ve had times where glitches happen with microphones not working, monitors not working, feedback… etc. One time during a Christmas performance one of the spotlights which was supposed to automatically come on and track the soloist across the stage for some reason turned in the opposite direction, came on and started tracking across the back row of the audience! Technical glitches can happen at any time with even the most sophisticated equipment.

Nancy McKeon. Has said in multiple interviews and documentaries that she put that part of her life behind her. Besides, what it any business of yours whether appears or not. If you have any heart... You would show compassion for women who lost her brother. Stop being so judgemental. Especially when freely admitted you don't have the answers.

Well, you just gave an alternate answer than to what Lisa said. Lisa said she wasn’t there because she recently moved and her kids recently started school. How dare you bring up the fact that Nancy has said she has put that part of her life behind her 🤪 . And its a perfectly legitimate topic to wonder why Nancy wasn’t there since the other 3 were and she wasn’t. And Lisa gave an answer about why she wasn’t (which you have challenged). And then…so wait, it lacks compassion to wonder where Nancy was because her brother died 2 years ago? Are you saying she wasn’t there because she’s still grieving? So now you’re adding ANOTHER alternate reason why Nancy wasn’t there. Boy, your comment is exhausting. If you bother to pay attention Nancy mckeon has said in interviews she is taking a significant hia significant hiatus from the business because she's focusing on being a good mom My understanding is that her last gig was very emotionally draining and it was also before she had her children and she would rather wait and focus on being a mom then being an actress and that's a good thing and other people have decided to do that in their careers

I follow both Nancy and Lisa on Instagram. They interact in the comments regularly and that interaction seems genuine. They claim that they have remained friends ever since Facts, and I believe it. Just because she didn't show up for this doesn't mean they don't get along, or that there is some significant reason she didn't participate. There could be numerous legitimate reasons that, quite frankly, are no ones business but Nancy's. She doesn't belong to the public. Just because she was part of the show 30 years ago does not obligate her to appear now. Live, and let live.

I heard two of these girls when Fact's Of Life ended they never at the time wanted to reprise their rolls as The Fact's Of Life Actresses ever again. I think one of them was Nancy McKeon who felt that way about it the most. Might have had something to do with it? And I think the other one was Kim Fields might have been the reason her name wasn't mentioned in the credits. I might be wrong but may have had a lot to do with it among other things. They also sent Lisa Whelchel to a Fat Farm once. Because she was supposed to be like the Barbie Doll figure. They was the hardest on her about her weight. Really critical on her. But I think she is forever beautiful!

I have news for Lisa, a lot of Southerns are vegan or vegetarians. I've been a (ethical) vegetarian (mostly vegan) since the 1980s and I'm from Louisiana.

If Lisa was 58 during the production of this show, Nancy has to be pretty close to that age. I'm 63 (at the time I wrote this comment), and I've moved several times, and helped my kids move several times. Moving takes a lot out of you, especially the older you get. Helping your kids start school, especially at a new one, takes a lot out of the whole family. If you put all the above altogether, then I don't blame Nancy for not being in this show. (PS: I'm also a part-time TV & Movie Actor myself. Every role I've ever had needed a fair amount of preparation before filming. You don't just walk out in front of a camera and expect everything to fall perfectly into place all by itself.)

OMG!! The guidelines say be respectful, but you were anything but. Nancy has said (repeatedly in the past) that she wouldn’t do any reunions. When the show was ending they ALL said they wouldn’t do reunions, but Nancy has been the only one who stuck to it. They’ve all, including Nancy, always said they were still friends. That’s from memory, but a Google search could do you some good. This is literally the first video I nearly gave a thumbs down. Wow dude!

It's not that "I care". I report on stories that made an impact. This live airing was the top rated TV show of the night, and Lisa got a huge reaction on Twitter. So I reported on it cause a lot of people did care, and you commented, so you clearly care, so yeah I guess, as you said, "mission accomplished".

some people move during the school year. we moved from NY state to PA in December. My kids didn't get settled into school until mid January. Sometimes things just work out in weird ways. Edited to add: my kids are now full grown. My situation happened in 2008/2009. ALSO, not everyone in Hollyweird can be paid off. If I were Nancy, and my kids were still young, depending on my particular current life circumstances, I probably wouldn't have joined that little reunion either. Life happens. Actors don't always say 'how high?' when Hollywood says 'jump'.

Remember in 2001(or 02) there was a reunion movie but Nancy was on a TV show about female cops(got quickly cancelled). Also, a Lifetime movie last year. But I didn't watch it all the way because it was too dull. So I don't know if Nancy was in it. It was supposed to be in remembrance of Charlotte Rea.

This event was likely planned several weeks if not months in advance. Nancy lives in Austin Texas which isn't that far from California. She had plenty advance notice to make sure she was available for this event. I don't care what moral principles a person might have, no one would refuse a paid gig unless something major happened or they were not invited. There is more to Nancy's absence than what is being said officially.
