Brought tears to me eyes....though I live in Canada, my heart will always be with Sg. I am so proud of the discipline of Sgreans and the respect they have for each other. The COVID19 pandemic has brought out the true colours of people around the world. What I see in Sg is a people who care for each other, responsible and not selfish, a people who truly understands what they must do co-operatively as one people to fight the pandemic. This is completely the opposite of what I see in the west, particularly North America, where personal rights and freedoms override the need to ensure the good and well being of society, where selfishness and personal gratification have become the disease that has infected the people. We have seen how people in North America have violently resisted the wearing of masks to contain the coronavirus all because of selfishness and ignorance. My birthday wish for Singapore and all Sgreans....please no not always think that the grass is always greener on the other side. In fact, many times it is brown. Sg is not perfect, but no country is perfect. In fact, many other countries have way more imperfections than Sg. Work constructively together to improve Sg to greater heights. Do not destroy Sg with destructive behaviour and actions just because you are unhappy with the government or the status quo. May God bless Singapore forever.

As a child growing up, I often remember our channel 5 would play the national anthem at 6am in the mornings. I thought this rendition of our national anthem was extremely fitting for 2020 and the challenges that we are facing and overcoming as a nation, as a people.
