Actually no. Varian is Blizzard's hallucination, turned into canon. But reality is, Onyxia, like many other bosses in WoW, are cursed to suffer countless deaths by millions of adventurers, cause she holds a latest fashion dragon hide bag, and there is still some idiots who doesn't have it yet, and everyone want to be fashionable and beautiful as Katrina Prestor. Those ugly thots, trying to steal some fashion from royal dragon lady.

I always felt they should make these "tales battle" scenario events, and bring more of the lore to the game. We as players could raid Onyxia with Varian, heal him throught the battle, needing to keep him alive. Even if it was a special thing and only in special ocasions we could do it, i think it would be really big.

varian shouldnt have been mia in vanilla... i know you can encounter him at one point ingame, but there's no reason there couldnt have been a questline ingame where you encounter him in either durotar or feralas, simply dubbed "human gladiator" or something, and maybe work alongside his team... escalating to the final battle... I WANT CLASSIC+ i want so much stuff to be redone. blizzard knows how many missed opportunities there were in the older expansions and if there was ever a time to add that stuff in it would be for the remastered classic... but i know exactly why itll never happen

I don't exactly know which part you're talking about but if you're talking about the red armor of one of the Varians, he obtained it when he was captured to serve as a gladiator by Rehgar. He won all the trials and because of his strength and bravery, he received a Horde-fashioned gear as a reward. At least thats how I assume.

@@MyidolGwen I don´t know but those 40 hobos survived traveling through Stratholm at that part and murder a big part of the Undead there + The Elite Part of the Scarlet Crusade, They also killed a few Villages worth of Trolls and most of the Sunken Tempel Guys heck if you go by ItemLvL you could say they also beat Ragnaros back to Hell at that point.

To be honest. I actually prefer the way they did this story. It’s always made more sense to me as a lore fan to have an important lore character strike down an important villain rather than just oh, some adventurer and their rowdy mates showed up and killed the big bad. Though I’m glad that going forward they had the forethought to actually have the lore character who beats the villain participating in the battle in game.

It's not just you. Varian Wrynn is - diplomatically speaking - a "divisive" character, with a track record that extends beyond the comics and runs through at least Mists of Pandaria with his "High King" business, all the way to his end in Legion. An argument could be made for whether or not he's worse than Med'an, but at least Med'an has the courtesy to be non-canon via obscurity.

Not just the comics - in everything and every way. I was so frustrated with that character when I gave a damn about the books. Every single one that even remotely included him always seemed to have him stealing everyone's thunder - No character was allowed to develop/improve/triumph as long as he was in the room, it was such a fucking cockblock. The reason I stopped giving a damn about the books was in part because of him. Every single established character was systematically killed off, except fucking Varian! His death in Legion was portrayed as tragic, but it was absolutely cathartic - And if the shadowlands expansion has him clawing his way back to life, then not only will his Goku-immitation be complete, I will be completely fucking *DONE!*

The comic seriously doesn’t do the great Missing Diplomat questline justice. That story culminating with Marshall Windsor’s (pronounced windsa by the way, like the British Monarch) confrontation with Onyxia and Bolvar Fordragon’s defence of the throne room was the best story in wow. Objection! Samurai and Mongol heavy cavalry were both known for being great shots, despite the former wearing heavy, bulky splint mail and the latter wearing an assortment of armors. Archery was not their primary combat use but they were very good at it when it was needed. I would say that "holding the bow down at your waist at a hip-fire position that will dislocate your shoulder if you try to pull the string back" is what makes this picture fully retarded.

I think you should have added the detail that a Tauren Druid intentionally gave them a gift that helped them escape, and that having won his money back so many times over that he was now a wealthy man(Orc,) the gladiator master did not have them pursued like he otherwise "should" have. Just a little bit of the "Savage but noble" stuff that the horde is noted for.

So they learnt not to have major lore characters get the canon kill. Deathwing, Gul'Dan, Argus, not even getting the kill on Jaina… Then when it canonically is specifically your charater who killed N'zoth, everyone disliked that.
