Thia video update was just a pure joy to watch. I love the updates you've made. The fiddlle yard and loop look smart and snazzy. The oo9 harbour is a great idea, and i look forward to seeing that quarry Mike. Im not able to get to my layout in the loft at the minute, but this feels like im still attached to a layout and having good fun. Thanks for the videos

Nice update. Adding another line for the fiddle yard is a good idea for extra storage. The laser cut bridge looks quite professional and it would be nice to see what other things you can make with the laser cutter.

He’s a clever lad that Doug! Great idea. Gives you more flexibility and the matrix makes it easier to use. Superb! 😉 As for the cutter, my goodness what a lifesaver! A bespoke raised section that is light, true and solid and yet costs relatively little! And yes, do create a viaduct, because that will look spectacular and it means you get that quayside scene you have been itching to create finally 😄 009 into a tunnel “off scene” is a n absolute winner. Maybe imply traffic from the quarry, though I suspect it might be a bit too much to get a line from the quarry down to the dock…then again, with Superdoug on board…🤔 🦸🏻‍♂️ Lovely stuff as ever, look forward to seeing that corner progress! 🤓👍🍀🍻 PS: I personally loved seeing the APT on the first radius branch line! Made me chuckle as I imagined the absolute outrage it would generate from certain people we have both probably encountered over the years 🥲🤣😂😅

Amazing how new technology can explode the possibilities with this hobby. When the price of laser cutters come down along with 3D printers the design and construction associated with modelers will evolve the same way recording studios have become almost a near total,cottage industry. 😮

That's interesting. 3d printers have halved in price and greatly improved and I'm sure laser cutters will go the same way.

Definitely go with the 009 stretch of track. WRT laser cutters and model railways, you are bang on. A friend and myself have started to experiment with laser cut 5 plank wagon bodies. They are working out very nicely. I hope to release them as kits soon.

it's great to know that you can also do british modern scene on a budget i have do admit that i am more fond of steam engines, but being able to do modern can appeal to more people and increase variability

Id love to see a video on the electrics for the diode matrix. Ive no idea on that side of things. Though my 3d printing is fun id love a laser cutter thats awesome how much are those things. Nice seeing the two of you working on the videos over the holidays 👍

Laser cutters are coming down in price. We use this one: s.zbanx.com/r/ps1FpckqRefN but in the next couple of months we will hopefully be reviewing a new one to the market that is incredibly budget and easy to use so look out for that :)

Hi do you think a 2ft wide board would be enough to have a curve for any locamotive and rolling stock in 00 gauge

Yes but only 0-4-0 locomotives and very short wagons. We have lots of videos on it

@@rich3316 not sure about an intercity, you would need to leave very large clearances for the curves. I have a video on how big a loco can you get round a first radius curve which shows what will. Some of the older Hornby andLima Bo Bo diesels class 25 to 33 etc will be ok

It's 12x8 . 10x6 is plenty big enough though to have an epic layout, especially if you keep it simple. Ours is really only three loops, two of which have sidings and one has a five lane fiddle yard
