Think the steam locos take us all back to younger years and fond memories of those times...we feel comfort in that zone don't you think?
@BudgetModelRailways
@BudgetModelRailways Жыл бұрын
That's has been the case in the UK but increasingly people like myself who don't remember steam feel the same about diesels.

@@davidsheriff8989 sounds great. I was a 60/70s child, but had no interest in trains until 10 years ago when my son got into them

Very interesting layout. I have just dismantled a three tier layout based on Preston in England. Unlike you, all the locos, including numbers, were prototypical of that area in the 1950's. However, your scenic work is very good. By the way, my layout had 34 locos obit ranging from an L&Y pug through jintys, class 5's , jubilees, four superd's and two du.chesses. All good fun to operate

I love how the track keeps expanding organically. Also, I’m sure I run more extreme train combinations that would annoy more…

You quite often do things that were unexpected,but this video has surpassed the normal levels! The single slip has made that area much better and added to the operating flexibility, and the fuelling point is a great addition, not least as I guess it effectively provides a loco stabling point! 💡🤓 As for the upper level, I think we can safely say now that the idea of developing that corner was the right one, and that new industrial section adds much more to it! The way the storage roads are too allows you to essentially do ‘point-to-point’ trip workings starting at the goods shed or industrial siding and terminating in the storage siding where you can change loco and stock whilst leaving the loop free for a local service to run 😎 I didn’t even notice the new station design (must have missed it) but the goods shed and siding entrance have created a great wee scene 😃 Cheers chaps! You have both created a fabulous railway and it will surely only get better! 😎🍀🍻👍

Thanks, much appreciated. I hadn't thought about end to end operation on the upper level, it's an interesting idea

This layout keeps getting more and more amazing every update. I always mention your channel on other popular model railway channels and some are even doing the whole affordable old locomotive idea of looking at old models and enhancing them.

Nice update on the shed layout Mike. The addition of the small TMD and Industrial area has added some more interest to the layout.

Love the progress. Had no idea that Hornby ever made the Ivatt with the early BR crest! AND I love that Restaurant Car running behind the Ivatt. Must be a fairly rare model as well.

Progress looks great. You really are packing a huge amount of different scenery in a small space. Excellent work. You are one of the linked channels on my channel, which is my way of spreading the word. 👍 Sadly, I don't get many views, but it all helps. Happy modelling. Mon

Brilliant work as ever guys, given me so many ideas for my next layout when I move. My new layout will be inside in a spare room, which I'm looking forward to in winter months. Show be able to get a layout about 10ft by 6ft, smaller then I've had before, but any layout is better than no layout as you say

I went to a local model railway sale near to where I live only in a small village hall I was expecting high prices similar to eBay, I couldn’t believe the bargains to be had! If you’re looking for bargains get yourself out there and see them in person so you know exactly what you’re getting. The sellers were extremely friendly and very honest from my experience

Small local shows are usually great, especially if there is a club shop. Larger shows with traders tend to be very expensive

Looks great and run what you like ,as model railways are each persons own creation and its about having fun and enjoyment and great to do things like a ' what if ' like steam might of gone on to the early 80s ? Imagine steam locos painted BR deisel loco blue ?. Those Ivats are lovely I have 2 bachmann ones and great runners too, have a lovely holiday.
