If you want to really warm up the pool leave the included black cover on during a sunny day! It will warm up fast...

We definitely don’t need the pool any warmer now that it’s so hot. When I filmed this it wasn’t summer yet so we had the solar mat hooked up and used the cover daily. We haven’t used the cover or the solar mat for a while and our pool on average has been 86 degrees!

Hi, we bought the exact same pool but we’re having a really hard time setting up the filter with the solar panel could you post another video showing exactly how to connect everything or have your husband explain how to do it? Please!
@thepoolmom84643 жыл бұрын
Hi, I’ll try and get my husband to explain it in a video. We actually disconnected our solar mat recently because it’s warm enough where we live and the filter seems to work better and it has more suction without it attached. We also had an algae bloom and believe it was due to our warm water temperature and the fact that the filter wasn’t filtering as much with the solar mat attached.

Hi can you please make a video on how to put the pump and solar panel and how it works do you have to back wash right away do i run the pump always 1/2 day please any help thanks

Hi, I’ll try and get my husband to explain it in a video. We actually don’t have the solar mat connected right now because it’s warm where we live and the filter is working better without it. Our water stays around 82-83 degrees without the solar mat. Once you set up the filter for the first time it says you need to backwash it for 5 mins and then rinse. We run our pump on average 6-8 hours a day and my husband will backwash it daily for about a minute. Keep an eye on the pressure gage on the pump.

Hi, really enjoying your videos. We have the exact same Costco pool in the garage and will be assembling it soon. I see in this video you are using a floating chlorine dispenser. Did your pool come with the "ChemConnect chlorine dispenser" that attaches to the outtake valve into the pool. I am wondering why you are using the floating one instead. Thanks
@thepoolmom84643 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I actually purchased the chlorine floater off Amazon before we noticed the pool came with the other dispenser. We decided not to use the one that came with the pool since the floater we purchased is larger and we can put the larger tablets inside.
@paulflogeras23093 жыл бұрын
@@thepoolmom8464 Honestly we are debating the same thing. Also the mini chlorine tablets aren't as readily available as the 3". Does the ChemConnect dispenser have to be connected to the outtake but you just chose to leave it empty, or can you actually remove it and not use it at all. Thanks

Did you have any trouble setting up the solar heater mat? We have everything set up but the mat is not warming up... wondering if we missed a step
@thepoolmom84643 жыл бұрын
My husband actually set it up but there’s only two hoses so I don’t think you did it wrong. I’ve actually never touched it to see if it was hot. We’ve had cool, cloudy days most of the week so our pool temp right now is about 70 degrees. Once the weather goes back up I’m sure the mat will work better. If you really want to keep your pool temp warmer make sure to keep it covered so it doesn’t lose heat at night. Also you could invest in a solar cover, I’ve heard those work pretty well.
@jessyl129873 жыл бұрын
The sun really has to be beating on the solar mat to actually get it hot. The black pool cover is what actually really get the water warm in my opinion.

Hi brought pool about a week ago and the sides are bowed in is that the way these pools are designed? Also for such a large pool this sand filter is way too small I feel the water filter outlet doesn’t circulate water fast enough to keep pool clean I have treated my pool water 2 days ago and water still cloudy. Do u suggested getting a larger sand filter? Please advise. Thanks!
@thepoolmom84643 жыл бұрын
Hi Elisa, pools are a bit tricky and depending on your location, weather and how often you use your pool you’ll need to adjust chemicals. I have done some videos regarding what chemicals/testing strips to use to help with daily pool maintenance. As far as the sides bowing in, once the water is at 90% full the sides will pop out more. Our sand filter that came with our bestway pool from Costco seems to be working much better now that we disconnected the solar heater mat. There’s much more suction now that we disconnected it and since it’s warmer there really isn’t a need for it right now. Testing your pool daily will help keep the pool clean and clear. We use the Clorox testing strips and app and it makes it easier. We also vacuum and brush our pool daily. Good luck!

How do you cover your pool with the ladder daily?
@thepoolmom84643 жыл бұрын
We cover most of the pool but not the ladder. We usually try and get the sides covered and then most of the ends covered. The cover that comes with the pool doesn’t really stretch and stay on so we just started using towel clips to keep it on the corners. I’ll probably do a video showing the pool covered.
