I got sent this wee Bachmann Class 03 shunter by a chap called Iain who said it was behaving erratically and he reckoned it had mechanical issues. Support - ko-fi.com/oobi... FAQ - ko-fi.com/post...

It's been taken apart at some stage, missing body screw, and the cab side window and door window on one side are missing. Make that both cab door windows that are missing!

Jack shafts are those things at the back. On the real thing that’s what the motor drives. Good for taking your toes off if you’re not paying attention. Layout looks very good.

If there is a heaven and assuming you end up there, I firmly believe you get given a large box of all the rulers, pens, scissors, odd socks, plectrums, patch leads and mankey brushes that you have lost during you’re time on Earth…!

The choice of camera angles is maximising the drama of movement now available due to the 3-line layout format and the maturing scenery of your layout. It frames whichever loco you've just fixed in the most positive way.

Helpful video, thanks! I recently acquired one second hand but haven't tried running it yet. The missing cab windows are prototypical, there are several photos of the 03 on Birkenhead docks after some yobs smashed them.

Another job well done. No repair seems impossible, Bill your the model equivalent of Springburn Works. Mind you, seeing an 03 without its accompanying flat wagon, catch wagon, might be the term, is weird mind. Another great video. Thank you for sharing.

I guess the old manky brush has left home 😂😂 Nice repair on the O3. I don't think mine has been out the box in twenty years.

I found that it always seems to be underpowered compared to the 08 shunters

Manufactures make loco's for the DCC market now and not for just DC, hence the bright cab lights run from the circuit board! Wand operated lights are for coaches and the like! A bit of modelling is required! Keep up the good work!

Yes the cab lights would normally be off while running and on once stationary so it makes more sense with DCC or a separate circuit to the motor power.

Who stole the manky brush, just out of interest, does it matter what grade of hardness it is?

Not at all.

is repairing locos a hobby or a full time job?
@oobill11 ай бұрын
Just a hobby at the moment but I might do it full time when I retire from my day job.
