I'm getting engagement baited hard but the answer is 16. In PEMDAS you do parentheses first, then exponents. After that multiplication and division are equals, so you just do the equation left to right if they are next to each other. Addition and subtraction are also equals, so you'll just go left to right. 8 / 2 (2+2) -> 8 / 2 * 4 -> (go left to right so DON'T do multiplication first. Do division first) 4 * 4 -> 16

A lot of people don't know how to do brackets (parentheses) properly. There was a rule people learnt back in freshman high school, about the 2 being a part of the brackets and to be solved during that step. 8/2(2+2) -> 8/2(4) ->8/8 -> 1

You are correct. The confusion comes in because what's left after the parentheses equation is both Multiply & Divide. They are arguing over which to do first. Well you have to remember in PEMDAS that after doing the parentheses equation... you start working LEFT to RIGHT. So after doing the 2+2= 4, you don't multiply... You might think you do but sadly you're wrong. You divide first because of the LEFT TO RIGHT rule. So it goes just how the person in this comment said. It is 16.

@@Ebbie155 By his own admission Twitter artificially paid him a higher rate for that video, Twitter inflated the impressions by pushing it as an undisclosed ad, he uses that inflated pay rate to convince other creators that they could be making as much from posting to Twitter which gives people a false expectation of what they can expect if they post and exacerbates the engagement baiting problem, Twitter only has so much money in ad revenue so he's doing this at the expense of other creators who will get lower rates to make up for it, it's likely not even his money and probably from a sponsor, it's an old video that already made more than enough from advertisers and sponsors and required no effort just to repost it to Twitter, he gets to act like he's being charitable by giving the money to only ten out of the millions he's convinced to do free advertising for him and Twitter blue and people will likely defend him for it, and he gets to engagement bait off the whole ordeal thus ensuring the cycle continues and emboldening others (mostly bot farms) to make even more low effort engagement bait content. I could go on; probably missed a couple of things but I think a hit the major points.

For those of you who don't know how to solve math problems it's Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication + Division, Addition + Subtraction. You go left to right for each of the four parts and solve them as they come (i.e, you don't always do Multiplication before division. You just do either operation as they come up in the equation.) You can always verify this stuff by just putting it into a digital calculator which supports full equations, because they're preprogrammed to do it right.

16:15 its def 1. Its P/E M/D A/S, from left to right. You do the parenthesis first, then multiplication, then division. When you see the division sign it always helps to turn it into a fraction too, that way you never get it confused. You do parenthesis, exponents, and multiplication before you do division; then of course addition, then subtraction.

It's 16, you cant turn the entire equation into a fraction as the 8 is only divided by the 2 and not the rest of the equation, You have to do the parenthesis first then you go from left to right for division and multiplication, since 8 gets divide by 2 first the question becomes 4 times 4.
