Your tip with the fine leaf foliage was fantastic! I’ve never seen it used like that before and the result looked amazing. The layout is progressing so fast and is looking great. Can’t wait to see you progress 😉

Another great video Tris. 15-20mins bite size vids combined with your unhurried presentation style means it is both informative but also very relaxing to watch. Look forward to the next instalment.

Good progress Tris, the weathering on the retaining wall is looking really good and the steel supports under the bridge look good too. Looking forward to the next episode. Cheers

Looks excellent Tris. The addition of the I beam under the bridge really adds some extra detail along with the raised road surface. The fuel tanks look good as well I have actually brought the Ratio kit recently so looking at yours has given me some ideas. - Nicholas.

Great series so far. I have started several OO shunting layouts in the past and failed to get beyond laying track. Your series may prompt me to try again and actually finish one.

Fantastic vid and some great ideas! One alternative to cheap reading is different grades of coarse sandpaper. I’ve used it a few times and if you change the coarseness you can replicate different scales, fine grade for ‘N’ and coarse for 00 or larger. Looking outward to the next vid!

Looks better Tris, had you thought about extending the track by the fuel depot to get in a buffer stop or sleeper across the track? also the fuel intake or outlet pipes look very close to the bung wall, often these were carried through the bung wall with shut off valve.

I personally would have put the beam under the varigirder to add depth under the girder side of the bridge and lower the bridge height so it doesn’t look so skinny, so I think you modified it the hard way in this version, but this little layout is coming on nicely

I wonder if it would be possible to use those magnetic solenoid decoupler thingys you can get? Maybe they would work well on a small layout like this for all the shunting?

Excellent series, just right to encoura😢ge beginners to the hobby. However you do seem to have got in a bit of a tizz regarding the bridge. A standard Wills brick panel is 76mm in height, if you had cut 15 or 16mm off the top it would have not only provided the correct visual height but still allowed plenty of clearance for a train to pass under it, therefore removing the need to raise the road using eye beams. Also another point is the lack of side piers which should flank the metal girder, these should be slightly higher than the girder. I don't wish to be over critical, but during my modelling career l have lost count of the number of overbrdges l have constructed.

Will you have a track or fiddle yard coming out behind that bridge? So train have room to run off them three sidings into one

Hi Tris, looking great. Have you used foamex board? It's great for lifting levels and also easy to scribe. Happy New Year, Dave.

I'm enjoying this series Tris but, whilst not wishing to be a killjoy, you might want to consider clarifying your comments re. taking sand from a beach: its not widely known but in the UK I understand this is illegal under the Coastal Protection Act 1949. Sorry, but I thought it best to mention this before anyone goes off filling their jam jars!

@iangriffitgs3284 where have you been lately. You can be robbed blind at home and the chances of the police doing anything are slim. I doubt taking a cup full of sand will be high on their radar😂

@@Haymarket47 ah, but it’s easy to prosecute if you show it on KZbin and confess where you got it from. The rozzers will be banging your door down as it’ll improve the statistic’s without having to do any actual policing
